Official Panthers/Falcons Tailgate Thread

Panthers take on the Falcons at 1pm. Tailgating starts at 7am. This week we will present the bikes to the Marine Corps Reserve in front of the North Gate at 10:45am.

The tailgate this week is sponsored by Inimicus and Sagacious Panther. Please thank them for their generosity as it makes tailgating easy for so many people. They donated the money for all the food and drinks so that all everybody else has to do is show up, partake, and donate. Because it's fully sponsored, 100% of all monies donated go to buying bikes to give to needy families at Christmas and all of this is done through the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program. To date, the Huddle has donated over 20,000 dollars and more than 600 bikes over the years.

The food this week is being catered onsite by Alex Ranucci, owner of Ranuccis BBQ and Grill. Please visit his website, www.ranuccis.com for more information on his restaurant and all of your catering needs.

Here's the rest of the information, any other questions this is the thread to ask:

Where? Our tailgate location is at the corner of Tryon and 3rd St. walk into the open air lot from the sidewalk and look for the Toys for Tots banner or ranuccis cooker.

Who? Anywhere from about 50+ people some on the website and many not, just friends. Anyone is invited even opposing fans.

What do I bring? Most everything is provided, food and non-alcoholic drinks. We have chairs if you require one. If you drink alcohol bring your own because we don't provide any of that.

When? Tailgating starts at 7am and food is put up around 12:30pm as people are mostly headed to the stadium by then.

Hope to see you all Sunday.

Rumors are that Santa will be making his annual appearance before the game at the huddle tailgate. Come early to catch him sober because as the day unfolds he becomes a wretched mess bloated with beer, Ranuccis turds, hot wings, and cigar smoke.

Official Survival Guild to a Falcons/Panthers Game

Rule 1- Upon entering the stadium you may find yourself in a sea of black and red uniforms. Don't worry, you are in Charlotte. You didn't pull a hangover and end up in atlanta after a long saturday night of partying. These people what we like to call "dirty birds" and are to be avoided at all cost. Do not make eye contact or engage in conversation with these creatures. They are annoying and obnoxious.

Rule 2- Drink heavily!! There will be plays in the game that you wise you didn't see, and surly wise not to remember. A steady stream for 4 bud lights per quarter will ensure not memory for the loss that is sure to come.

Rule 3- Stock up with brews before the 4th quarter. This is the quarter where beer sales stop and the panthers give away the game. You will need a beer to wash down the taste of defeat

Rule 4- Cab it home!! Or sober up at the Cabaret. ( My personal choice )

Follow these rules and remember your training...

It's just a tailgate, something that's replicated hundreds of times over various other lots around the city. This one isn't much different than any other. I'm sure you could go to the nearest football team to you and replicate it.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
