the WCO is on it's way out.

too complicated to learn. the verbiage is too complicated. both unnecessarily so. it's being abandoned in favor of simpler (albeit riskier), but ultimately more effective passing offenses that gets down the field faster and gets on the board quicker (e.g., the spread).

In fairness, I've been hearing that for about ten years or more. Generally from the same circles that say running quarterbacks will replace pocket passers.

Haven't seen either one happen yet.
