Decisions: Apple TV or Gaming Console?

ok so I'm trying to decide if I wanna hike up for after getting a new TV for my apartment:

an apple tv to go with it with my mountain lion + airparrot for wireless hd dekstop mirroring

or...

getting a ps3 and netflix account to go with it

Which would you go for?

Is there a way to mirror your dekstop wirelessly with the ps3?

of course i just bypassed the Iphone5 for the S3..Im pretty satisfied so far.

It's kinda funny, I just did the opposite on the phone side of things. Had a samsung for 3 years and got an upgrade with Verizon...decided on the iphone this time over the s3.

Anyhoo, I'm leaning towards the Apple TV. I think it'd be cool to play video games again (last game I bought was in like 03') so that's why I'm thinking PS3 but the whole wireless HD mirroring seems way cool.

Apple's OS is great but the hardware is the cheapest crappiest poo around. Someone who wants a mac would be wise to buy a custom rig (which will be more powerful and much cheaper) and install OSX on it themselves.

They do not make superior products and they do not deal in high quality goods.

Of course there are 100 more reasons why Apple is terrible and if you want to know them then just google it.

I added an ApleTV to my home theater simply because I ended up with a credit at the Apple Store.

I dont like the way it buffers Netflix content as much as I like the way my XBox handles it but everything else about the device is superior to the XBox/TV/BluRay payer apps that do the same things.

If games are not the issue than Id go Apple TV.

Being able to just push stuff from my IPad/IPhone to the TV is pretty bad ass.

That was helpful.

I'd probably get like 3 games and play them a decent amount but I'm just not a big video gamer. Probably get Madden, Skate, & Fifa and that's about it. Its been forever since I've owned and actually played video games but it'd be cool to have.

I'm definitely leaning toward the AppleTV idea. Having that, my phone, ipad, and macbook pro all connected to my new tv would be pretty sweet.

      Linville... really?! The OGs were an overreaction from 2023 when they played like 8 guys that will never play another meaningful snap in the NFL. But the others?  Moton, Ickey and Chuba were in Carolina before Bryce. So they had nothing to do with him. Who was the #1 WR heading into 2024? After 2024, who was the #1 WR heading into 2025? I'm not saying they haven't put resources into the offense. I'm saying this narrative that the team is sacrificing the rest of the team to make BY look like an NFL QB is just... a bad take. They are trying to bring in and keep talent on a roster that was/is/TBD mostly void of NFL level players.  Now if they would have gone out and overpayed/overdrafted for ex-Alabama players Bryce had chemistry with, then that would have been trying to make Bryce look good to the detriment of the team.

      If not for Jaycee blowing up the block intended for him and tripping up Dyami, that jet sweep might have ended up being a house call. The design and flow of Coen's play calling impressed me, especially with the way he was presenting different looks and using plenty of motion + misdirection.
