Ok Ronald Eugene Rivera.. This Sunday is the day, seize the moment.

I truely do believe this Saints game is going to have huge implications for us. I am firm in my belief that this Sunday's game alone will single handily decide Ron's fate. If we lose and go 6-10, I just see no way JR and our new GM can justify keeping him. Sure we won 3 in a row but against a below average, lame duck Chargers team, a Matt Leinart led Oakland team, and to Rivera's credit a pretty solid win against a good Falcons team. Grant it they appeared as though as they gave a weak effort against us but still.

This Saints team is playing lights out and are in playoff form as of late. They are fighting tooth and nail to avoid a losing season, it will be their last home game of the year and make no mistake, they did not forget about their loss to us back in week 2.

If we win, it will vindicate Rivera deserving a 3rd year, it will confirm we have arrived by beating a Drew Brees led Saints in the super dome and moving to 7-9, it will say we are not the same ole Panthers of last year, the same Panthers that beat the mediocre teams but crumble against the good teams, it will show we are a force to be feared.

If we lose, it will vindicate the skeptics who have been saying this 3 game win streak is a headfake and fuel the flames of Rivera hate that much more, it will show that Rivera chokes under pressure when its all on the line and prove the skeptics right that we are the same ole 6-10 Panthers from last year. Destroy a 4 win Bucs at home, go get destroyed by a good Saints team aweek later. This year it will be that we beat a 4 win Raiders team, only to be beat by a superior Saints team a week later.

This Sunday is Rivera's super bowl. Whats it going to be Ron?

wrong. sunday's game will either vindicate or finally damn rivera for the 9 games that decided his fate.

This was supposed to be our final home game of the season (thanks DNC). Hard to play on the road.

If Rivera and company can pull out a 2 score win, I will shut-up and look forward to next year.

Anything less, a loss or a 1 point win and I am back on the Gruden or whoever wish committee.

I'll be honest, I am pulling for a win and for for Rivera, but another 6-9 season...thanks for playing, but my vote is thumbs down.

    • The panthers are such a trash organization at this point that all the huddle can do is argue about which panthers team is historically the worst…good times.
    • Well, hope they're not worried about a torn Labrum or Rotator Cuff, as someone who went through that myself, I know those don't have anything show up on X-Rays but from the MRI, so this is kinda a nothing update, hope it's not a tear or his season is already over if they decide to do surgery now. Which is basically what would be needed to get him to 100% for the start of next season's training camp if it's a labrum.  If he plays the season with it and then does surgery, he's not going to be ready for camp and probably not the start of the season either.
    • I always try to not pay much attention to a team’s preseason win/loss record. The 1982 Washington and 2021 LA Rams both lost every game in the preseason and went on to win the Super Bowl, whereas the 2008 Detroit Lions and 2017 Cleveland Browns both won every game in reason and went on to lose every regular season game. There’s many examples of teams that lose in preseason that go on to have good seasons, but equally there are teams that lose in preseason and that continues in the regular season. Which will we be?  I think our floor is a handful of wins, while our ceiling will probably be around the 9-10 win mark. The latter will require significant improvement from the whole team and coaching staff, and will also need Bryce to play like the QB we drafted him to be. I want to be optimistic and predict a winning season, but it’s really difficult as a Panthers fan!
