Going to Chicago to pursue a "ring" and only has been to the playoffs one of out three seasons he's been there. And now the coach that recruited him gets fired, Chicago is also believed to be "rebuilding".

Couldn't have happened to a better asshole.

You act like he is playing for a joke like the chiefs or the panthers- the bears are among the better teams to ever miss the playoffs. What a joke thread. Did he bang your girlfriend or something- not that I think Pep would stoop as low to dip in whatever nasty would be desperate enough to touch you. I bet he is just miserable as he counts his millions. Maybe he will cry himself to sleep on the plane trip to honololu for another pro bowl.

can't believe Panthers fans would EVER support Peppers after what he did. You must not have been a fan until recently.

I have never understood the hostility directed towards Peppers. He left because he wanted something different. He didn't say Panthers are horrible or evil, and he didn't commit any felonies. Its a business, and he made a business decision.

Fwiw, we are probably better off without him anyway. Our defensive ends are very good, and they are younger than Peppers.

Speaking for myself, it just sucks when your favorite player leaves your team... Kinda like when a girl dumps you.

It's not jealousy or whatever, it just hurts... So I see where jtg is coming from...

I don't give a flying poo about the Bears, but it doesn't hurt that they haven't done anything AND we have two really good DEs now.

The biggest reason the Peppers event left a bad taste in Panther fans mouth was not really his fault. It was his sorry excuse of a "agent", who did not properly handle the situation both internally and publicly. Pep could have left town on better terms. Sucks to see all of his years tarnished by a nasty departure from a city who loved him.

    • After some of the calls last year probably won't see much of a drop off

Resisting changes that would actually incentivize good performance and not seniority based systems. What a bunch of donkeys. Hope the replacements straight up take their jobs and never give them back. Sick of watching refs script games with no repercussions.
    • Donovan seems like highest risk to me. Lloyd and May have already established relationships with all these kids. There’s probably guys hitting the portal that they recruited from HS. And then there’s the possibility of transferring their own guys from their current teams. They’ve also been recruiting the HS kids for like the next 5 years already. Look at the Iowa coach who hit the ground running by transferring all his guys from his D2 program. Or going across sports to Cignetti transferring all his JMU guys year one then building off that to a national title year 2. Donovan is starting from square one having been in the NBA so long and he’s already 60. So you’re potentially punting year 1 for a guy you are just hoping to be a 10 year hire while you figure out how to actually develop your next home grown 20yr guy. That’s 1/10th of the time you have him, more or less at best. The hope would be that he would find some high level assistants who have been working the college recruiting trails already, but then are you giving up his ideal staff just to get a foothold in recruiting and transfers. Think Belichick year one was bad? Imagine how much worse it would be without Steve Belichicks transfer portal pulls. Hoping Mays or Lloyd are all they’re cracked up to be.
