Can Gettleman lure Giant FA's ?

I think gettlemsn is comfortable drafting that he doesn't need to bring in any giants fa's. I would like to take a minute to say I'm glad we have him here cuz I still think victor Cruz was the best sleeper pick up in years.

Can Gettleman take any credit for Cruz? They obviously didn't think highly enough of him to actually draft him. While someone must have been intrigued for them to sign him, if they had any clue how good he would be I have to believe they would have actually drafted him. I've seen people try to credit Ross as well with Cruz, but it seems to be it's more good fortune than any particular front office brilliance.

one thing to consider is that one of gentleman's strengths throughout his career is in finding overlooked but very talented players.

i would expect to see some very 'wtf' type player pickups as well as a whole lot of bitching until we see that he actually knows what he's doing.

well, I know one thing we didn't and haven't hit like that. If he sees something like that in another player then I will be cool with it. The chance of that type of hit is why I'm glad he is here.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
