Ole Colin has it all. Decent defense great oline running game. TE. Just serviceable receivers though. But my God. I don't know if I can stand the cam and Colin comparisons.

This is why I'd rather see Atlanta win.

And that was a catch on that poorly thrown ball by Ryan going to review now.

He had his hands underneath it. Unless they're going to say the ground aided in him catching it, despite the fact it didn't touch the ground.

The notion of building an elite defense these days is silly. You need an adequate defense. You need a ton of playmakers and good offensive system. None of the teams left in the playoffs have a top defense other than the Niners and they're off today but the offense bailed them out.

I agree with you whole heartedly. And that was one of the things that pissed me off with Rivera early in 2012. He had this 'bend but don't break defense'. And all that defense did, was keep the Panther offense off the field long enough, for the opposition to score a TD, while depriving the Panther offense of more possessions.

I can't tell you how many times, I yelled at my TV early this season, telling Rivera "Just let the damn team score, so the offense can get the ball back". That's one of the reasons, why the Panthers were in so many high scoring games in 2011. It was because the "poorer" defense allowed quick scores, so the offense could get the ball back and score.

And sure enough, if you look at the overall 2012 stats. The Panthers had a good offense (#12), but they didn't have the ball enough, and their #5 in DVOA offensive ranking illustrates this?

That was Rivera's fault--early in the season, believing too much in his defense at the expense of the offense ('bend but don't break', allowing teams to dink and dunk against them up the field).

And to make matters worse, he did the same in the 4th Qtr of games (placing his faith in his defense, instead of allowing his offense to get the first down or score/keep scoring), just to watch the defense blow those as well, instead of believing in his offense to get the 1st down or score, holding on to win the game.

They were off last week too. I'm confused with those top rated defenses. Even the Seahawks with their highly rated defense wasn't doing much stopping.

      Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!

      Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.

      OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
