Ya don't cut Anderson.

Possibly trade him for a player of need.

If not, keep him. His cost is very affordable.

How is your 4th or 5th best LB in a 4-3 who takes up one of the top 10 cap space figures......very affordable?

Overpaid

Anderson is a starter who is worth keeping. At this point I trust him more than Beason and Davis. He has stayed healthy and productive whereas Beason and Davis have had their issues. I don't know if we restructure or keep things as they are. But cutting him to save 2 million when you could keep him and save close to that in a restructure makes little sense. Not all restructures are the same so it isn't just giving money early but changing the terms. Making sure you don't have a ton of guaranteed or dead cap salary going forward.

I trust him more than those 2 as well....

But he was still overpaid. He does represent that theme and trend that Hurney displayed....and it has cost us.

Our roster is full of talented guys worth keeping....a shame they weren't all signed to slightly smaller deals. Overpaying so many adds up

    • Exactly.  You let him play out next season and continue to develop Thorton.  Jackson’s earned his next contract, but his age and the risk of tying up such a large portion of the payroll at one position leads me to believe that we’ll let him walk. In all likelihood, we’ll draft another CB, or two, and bring in some journeymen to fill the roster void, between now and the start of the 2027 season.  That’ll create more balance financially across the roster enabling us to invest in other areas.
    • As far as the NFCS … I think this division will be hotly contested the next couple of years.   I am tending to pay more respect to both Atlanta and the Saints n terms of how strong they will be moving forward, than not.    I am mixed on Ryan but think they have a decent roster to start with. I don’t think he blundered hiring Stefanski. And that offense can be dangerous with a QB. Plus, defense is arrow up. No 1st round pick, WB issues will dull their effectiveness. Question is, to what degree?   I think Moore is going to be a good HC and can overcome tape that people have on Shough. They need a lot but they were playing with people. Just the way you want to see all the way to the end.    Not sure about Tampa they have Mayfield but I don’t think they can maintain their success and Bowles is not going to last much longer. They have to go through all that. Gonna be tough once it starts. Might already have started.    For us I feel pretty good about Morgan. But less so about our offense, we have some short term RB and OL issues and those things are critical given what we are working with at QB.  Overall, mixed. Like a lot of what I see but some major question marks remain.
    • Absolutely. If we are talking about a 20 year old youngster. He's a grown-ass man, and he doesn't know what his job entails or how to do it? Maybe he will be better next year! It's the Panther way.
