Will Cook and Finley change the way teams use TE's?

Interesting blurb on how if the Titans try and franchise tag Cook, he says it should be as a WR, because he lined up most snaps as a WR, not inside like a typical TE. And the tag rules say youll be tagged as the position where you played majority of snaps. Franchise tag difference is huge between tagging a TE or tagging a WR. Also mentions how Finley was saying the same thing but got a new deal so he avoided any of this headache. If teams think they'll have to start paying tight ends like wide receivers, will they limit the number of snaps per game that they line up as a receiver?

It's the offseason, so fug off.

He brings up a great point. He needs to get paid consistent with how he is being used instead of what he is being called. The CBA is on his side. If you are going to be franchised instead of getting a fair price in free agency. You at least should get paid the higher amount.

    • Did not expect this from national media. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/10-best-nfl-defenses-2026-texans-seahawks-broncos 10. Carolina Panthers   Key additions: OLB Jaelan Phillips (FA), LB Devin Lloyd (FA), DT Lee Hunter (draft) Key losses: DT A’Shawn Robinson (FA) Don’t be surprised to see the Panthers, who ranked 15th in points allowed and 16th in yards given up last season, make the leap into the top-10 conversation in 2026.  They added two of the marquee defensive free agents in edge rusher Jaelan Phillips and linebacker Devin Lloyd. Cornerback Jaycee Horn is coming off back-to-back Pro Bowl seasons. Carolina lost starting defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson in free agency but essentially replaced him with second-round pick Lee Hunter, who had 10.5 tackles for loss at Texas Tech last season.  Ejiro Evero, one of the NFL’s most respected defensive coordinators, has plenty of talent to work with.
    • unless you have a bonafide superstar at Qb you bring in competition every year until you do & or at the very least you want a legitimate plan B in case of an injury .the problem in Carolina is they know Bryce ayoung most likely could not actually win a real legitimate NFL Qb competition right now & if & when he did not win that aforesaid Qb competition it would not only be a major distraction but a setback to his overall development.& moreover once the fans realized they had a much better Qb on the roster it would be alot of public pressure to start the better Qb  ...just saying
