I disagree, I think he's on par with Julio Jones, but he's raw right now.

He is slower, smaller, weighs less, has smaller hands, shorter arms, can't jump as high and can't jump as far but sure he is on par with Jones.

Patterson is raw, but he has all the physical tools to be an elite WR. His biggest knock is not catching with his hands enough, I have a feeling this is something WR Coach Ricky Proehl could help with.

What about production and how they play which was my point? His production in college and his playing style matches Adams more then Green and Jones.

Of course I see it, but what I also see in Joe is a prototypical slot guy and a lot of his best plays in college where from the slot, out of the backfiend or on drag and short crossing routes to utilize his speed and agility - which I have no problem with. However, expecting him to be much more than a slot guy is probably ill advised and if he can't learn to hold onto the ball he may not be on the field regardless of talent.

Patterson, on the other hand, has the size, long speed, leaping ability and physicality to play outside, but also have the speed and lateral quickness to use on those short and intermediate routes like Adams.

I'm looking for a future 1 to replace Smith, I don't see that being Adams. I do see it as an option with Patterson.

Then we come back to he didn't do it in college like Julio and AJ who for years faced the best CB and were the number 1 WR on their teams. Patterson was a special team gimmick play type player like Adams. It will also be crazy if Adams out performs you making a way to early judgment on him.

Patterson played in the same SEC as both Green and Jones. While he did have a lot of YAC yards and TD's that spring from his athletisism and return mentality and ability he had quite a few plays where he just lined up and beat his guy vertically and made the catch.

Patterson didn't get to choose who was defending him any more than anyone else did, but the numbers and the highlights speak for themselves. I'd love to see him as the WR 3 and KR, with Smith moving to the slot when Patterson is on the field. Now you have a vertical threat on the outside to extent the D and Smith to work them underneath. On the opposite side you have a big target in LaFell who is coming into his own.

Is there a resource to find out who he took his snaps against? I'll have to dig deeper into his stats.

While Huddlers are comparing him to Green and Jones, elsewhere people are likening Patterson to a bigger, more physical version of Percy Harvin. If he has that type of potential, then he obviously warrants a serious look at 14. Before Harvin got hurt last season,he was arguably one of the most important players on his team in the NFL, while also leading the league in all purpose yards at that time.
