How do you feel, now, after dissing Pep?

Agree with Mintal.

It is NOT reasonable at all. A person forming his/her personal opinion of a man based on the amount of idolic toys and jerseys that person has is maybe one of the most UNreasonable and immature methods ever. I would expect if out of a toddler...maybe. If you post here you should be adult enough to understand the risks and rewards of buying sports memorabilia and not throw a temper-tantrum if some of your dolls don't represent the "current" employment situations of the players they are supposed to symbolize.

No it's not, it's not reasonable at all. They bought those jerseys, etc. based upon what he has done in the past, not on what he's going to do in the future. I mean, that would be stupid and I don't think most people are stupid. I keep going back to a Sandal Bergman line in the movie Conan, "Do you want to live forever". Do you really expect a player to stay with your team forever?

It's not rational, and sometimes things like being a fan isn't supposed to be rational. Especially for many fans I know they think in emotional terms when it comes to football because at its core football is an emotional sport.

I see a lot more people complaining about "temper tantrums" than I see the people on whom these complaints are based. I do see people who are unhappy with the situation, for whatever reason, which I'm sure you can understand.

I was a huge Pep fan. I dissed him and will continue to diss him. He is not in Carolina b/c he wants to be here. Come on, the guy is getting 16.7 million this year and has been whining like a baby.

This isn't over...Let's see how he handles himself in training camp and this season. Anyone that has followed Peppers knows that he can take plays or seasons off. How do we know that he will not have one of his "let's take this season off and collect 16.7 million years"? Jury still out.

I think that will come more from Meeks than Pep and Brown being on the field together. But the two of them will defiantly help.... :D

I see you are already planning on putting most of the credit on Meeks, and not the talent.

Players, and coaches get both the credit, and blame.

Guys like Beason, Smith, Williams, Hoover...they love being here, they love Carolina and they love this team. I admire those guys, but I can no longer say the same for malcontent, whining Julius Peppers.
The guy did love being here. He played out his entire contract, with nothing but class. Then, when he had a shot at free agency, he said he wanted out. And now all I see is people crying.

He'll be back, and something tells me that he'll be glad to be back.

No. I'm putting it on Meeks to bring the talent out of these player's more than the last DC did. And if he does, we will have an awesome defense this year.

It's pretty simple if your given lemons make lemonade. Pep just found out pretty darn quick the league doesn't find him elite.
Really?

Seems to me everything I have heard and read, everyone considers Peppers elite. That being said, you don't give up 2 first round draft picks to a DE that will command one of the largest contracts for a defender. No matter the talent, that is to much to give up ~ cept for possibly an all pro QB. And even then, Cutler was under contract when he was traded.

It just boggles my mind how many people got their panties wadded because a man who no longer had a contract expressed a desire to look for greener pastures. He didn't rape your wife. He expressed a desire to go elsewhere after fulfilling his contract, yes, he played out his contract. Let me repeat that, he played out his contract, he owed the Panthers and the fans nothing, nothing. Why take it so personal? I'm glad I'm not around you guys, I might inadvertently walk by you without bowing down on my knees and risk getting shot or something. You have a much too high sense of entitlement. You think you own Peppers? Slavery has been outlawed for over 100 years...

 That is fall out of the chair funny!!!!

And so true.

    • The division is most certainly wide open. The Bucs are a problem but Baker Mayfield is and will remain his own worst enemy it's a matter of when not if he has a bad game or even a stretch of bad games. As far as the Panthers they have done an admirable job of trying to address needs as best they can without pulling a Scott Fitterer and getting desperate which has only made us worse off in the past. On the Bryce subject all anyone can really say at this point is we just have to wait and see. This is the year and despite what the Panthers may say publicly doubling down and going all in on WR is as good as any sign anyone should need that they expect Bryce Young to have a very productive and convincing season. The pieces are in place. They aren't perfect but nothing ever will be. Regardless there's honestly no excuse for this staff and this team not to be able to compete in this iteration of the NFC South. Also just want to say this because I can say the hyper defensive posts already being made in here and it's probably going to be a season with highs and lows again but hopefully more highs for sure. But just because there is dialogue about a position group or a player that challenges your preconceived notions or makes you uncomfortable does not make it "hate" or "anti" this player or that player. For some people who talk a lot about nuance you would think this wouldn't need to be stated but that's where we're at.
    • If I was a coach I would preach "Don't let the refs decide the game" because as soon as you let the NFL the chance to help their bottom dollar whether it be teams that make most money or gambling then they will screw the team that doesn't fit their bottom line......is it rigged? No but do they try and make certain narratives happen abso-freakin-lutley. As I stated in a previous thread NFL players are the ones that SHOULD have all guaranteed contracts but the boot lickers on this forum disagree and argue for the billionaires in this world who own these teams, sheep
    • I wont go quite so far as to say games are rigged.  You wouldnt have to work hard to convince me there was the occasional thumb on the scale but outright rigged? nah.   but collusion on the rest of the "business" of football, sure.  No one really believes that the only time the 32 owners act as one is during the negotiations of the CBA do they?
