Keenan Allen game tape thread

when i watch Allen, i think Crabtree not Dez. Of the 1st round guys, Allen and Nuke (boarderline if he goes 1st round) are the 2 most refined WRs. i dont see woods cracking round 1 at this moment.

i would be thrilled with allen at this point in his development and at this point in the scouting process. the biggest question everyone has about him is his athleticism, pro day is going to matter. is he jarrett or a crabtree on a dez (doubt it) athlete. the film suggest to my eye crabtree not dez or jarrett.

ps, love patton in the 2nd. i think the 2nd round wrs are where the value really becomes apparent. all the guys this year at wr have flaws, and some of the small school guys have as much talent as the 1st rounders. hunter (1 year wonder?), patton, wheaton, rogers, and even boyce. if any of them were still there in round 2 i would have no problem with the pick. all offer upside on the outside.

i am surprised wheaton isnt getting anymore love around here or other sites. kids a baller, bad qb situation, but came in big in big games. good hands big time burst. austin got the headlines, this guy looks the part. he isnt the magical 6' tall but kid is a damn good football player and the speed he showed on the field was also evident at the combine.

stacked wr class imo. are the freak polished products like jones and green in this class no, but there is some great depth and some very good prospects in it.

Allen ended up not getting to perform at his pro day because of his injury. Has an individual pro day scheduled in April.

That irritates me. He's someone I think we're legitimately interested (or at the least legitimately want to be) in and this is causing his stock to plummet.

this is the only injury he had missed time for, and it was like a grade 2 (tear) in his PCL.he then re injuried the knee working out, and said he was on track to workout before the draft. it didnt require surgery, but maybe that would have been best. i think it becomes a concern if he cannot work out on april 9, and even then he could slide into the 2nd round where he could become a steal.

    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
