I have watch him play for the last couple years (grad school).

I believe he could be a very solid pick in the 4th round. Plus he would come in and help provide more competition.

I won't pretend to be a NFL draft scout, but has explosive athletic ability, and he was without doubt the leader on defense last season. He was a field commander that took control of the defense.

Yes, States defense was not great, but he was All- ACC as a senior and got better every single year.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock says NC State S Earl Wolff is a draft riser.

Mayock said Wolff went from "late draftable" to "probably a third-rounder". He added that there's no way he gets through the fourth-round, and he likes his tackling and awareness. Wolff is one of our own Josh Norris' favorite prospects.

A running back and safety as a prep, Wolff was also a standout on the track team at Hoke County high school in North Carolina.

He redshirted in 2008 before starting four games at the boundary safety position the following year. His highlight was 10 tackles while playing just 26 snaps against Pitt.

Wolff finished third on the team with 91 tackles in 2010, starting every game at the boundary safety position. He posted a career-high 15 tackles against East Carolina.

He again posted a career-high with 113 tackles in 2011, earning All-ACC nominations. But Wolff saved his best for last, earning first-team All-ACC honors as a senior, leading the team with 136 tackles, including a career-high 19 against Clemson. He had four games with at least 17 tackles, and picked off a pair of passes.

Wolff is a stabilizing presence in the secondary who can cover good ground.

I believe this to be a fair comparison.

COMPARES TO: Deon Grant, Safety, Retired - When I look at Wolff, I see a guy with instincts, toughness and athleticism that remind me of Grant, who made an 11-year career for himself as a strong run defender that didn't make a lot of mistakes in coverage. Wolff has a chance to be a similar player, and should upgrade a special teams unit immediately with his downhill, physical style. Probably falls to the latter three rounds of the draft, considering the speedy, athletic depth at the position in this year's class.

Projected Round (2013): 2-3.

4/24/13: Wolff has worked his way into being a second-day prospect on the merits of a strong postseason. Wolff was another standout of the East-West Shrine. He made his presence felt throughout the week, including a couple interceptions in one practice. The senior totaled 119 tackles with seven passes broken up, one forced fumble and two interceptions in 2012. He had 105 tackles with three forced fumbles and three interceptions in 2011.

Wolff has good instincts and run defense. He demonstrated some additional potential during the Combine with a great 40-yard dash.

      I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.

      Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.

      Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
