Ryan Swope: example of why internet scouting reports are not always on the money

I thought that the Panthers would take Ryan Swope in the 4th, but Swope ended up a 6th rounder to the Cards.  The funny thing is that after reading a few scouting reports, no where was there a mention of his two concussions at Texas A&M.  Most of the sites I saw graded him as a 3rd or 4th rounder. Just goes to show that we don't necessarily have as much information as we think we may have. What we are privy to and what the coaches see may be worlds apart.

I said on a number of occasions that his concussion history is what scared me about it; I think most people were aware of those medical red flags.

Yeah, many were aware of his concussion history, yet talent wise he was worth a 2nd or higher.  Now, I much would have rather we would have gotten Swope in the 4th, compared to the guy we picked.  The second year in a row we pick up a no name from a no name school.  At least Amini dominated his competition, this guy we got this time looked like he was holding defenders hands as he blocked them.

Well, the Cards may have known about his condition, but they surely didn't "know" (apparently).  See link.  I guess someone didn't do their homework. I still believe his agent must have done a bang-up job keeping the info under the radar.
