A player that will surprise us this season

I dont think the man is making the team bud.

We're only going to carry maybe the max, 7 receivers. Do the math with Ginn and Barner returning kicks and punts, and Pilares is a goner.

Then it would certainly be a surprise if he has a good season.

I wouldn't count Pilares out, someone will go down. If he returns healthy he has talent.

I get the feeling Kugbilla will see plenty of action this year, that doesn't mean he will excel.

One guy the players are high on is Lamont Bryant. He can be that "joker" weapon.

Sure it would. It would be nice but you really think hes going to beat out 89, LaFail, Hixon, Ginn, and Gettis? I think Joe Adams will get the nod over Pilares just bc we're not going to throw a 4th rounder  player with huge returning abilities after just 1 season. I hate to say it but its not premature to say that Armanti Edwards may make the team over Pilares. Pilares is coming off an injury and is now a liability on ST with the additions of Ginn and Barner.

People that say this are usually the same ones declaring that David Gettis will have a breakout year.

I dont think no one is saying that. But Gettis is a much better receiver than Lafail. If he can comes healthy, we should be able to get some production from him.

Oh. My. God. You are on an absolute roll of idiocy today.

Pilares has actually contributed and would have a lot more if not for getting injured.

All Joe Adams has done is fumble every chance he gets. As for Armanti, seriously???

    • Kalkbrenner and Sion James received regular contracts and not two ways, so the Hornets have some work to do to cut the roster size down.
    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
