Dexter: season 8

I think he has to die.  It's really the only way.  I don't see him going to jail, and I don't see the show ending with a "and he lived happily killing ever after" story.  Unless he flees to Europe before everyone in America realizes who he is and starts a new career there.

The thing they could do, which could make SOME sense but is predictable, is have Deb in the end kill Dexter, and then she raises his son, only to find out that since his son witnessed his mother's death and all that like Dexter, he has the same tendancies.  Deb is then the teacher, much like Harry, and realizes the purpose of teaching a code to Harrison.   I wouldn't be surprised at this.

I'd really like him to be exposed though, on a national level.  Exposed as the bay harber butcher, etc, and becomes famous.   We'll see but I'm glad it's the last season.  I hope they do it right, 8 seasons in, it deserves that.

I don't want Dexter to die out of sheer attachment to the character and out of the slim hope that even with this being the last season they'd be open to do more later if everyone involved got back on board. Now I'll admit that is probably a terrible idea because it is hard to get closure that way but I don't want closure closure closure I want Dexter. Dexter still is and will likely remain the best TV show I've seen, it is sad this will be the final season.

A. Agree

B. Exactly how I see the show ending actually

Either way it should be a wild last season watching his life unravel, and somewhere Hannah must play a big role as well since they made a point to emphasize the plant in the trailer....

I hope Dex actually kills Deb early in the season and then they spend the rest of the episodes on following Dexter as he goes on a nationwide killing spree that tours all of the towns featured in HBO series.  I mean who doesn't want to see him kill Sookie Stackhouse?

The show hasn't been great in a couple of seasons and although Ill watch it for the sake of completeness I dont hold out much hope that they are going to salvage some amazing ending.

Last amazing season was 4 I believe, with Lithgow.  The worst was the Stiles season.  It's a good show mostly, but season 1 and 4 were special, too bad they lost the magic here and there.

That's pretty much exactly what I want too. There's way too much potential in all of his friends and coworkers finding out that they were working with a killer who manipulated them for years for them not to expose him.Sadly I don't think it's going to happen though. From everything I've seen about this season involving set photos and such it just seems like the same old status quo.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
