PTI (Wilbon, Kornheiser) Both Love the Change to Hornets

Bear with me, this is a recap...

Wilbon said the change shows the franchise is trying to connect to the "good times" in which we sold out every game for 6 consecutive seasons and that we were "Oklahoma City before Oklahoma City."

Kornheiser said he was iffy about name changes in general, as in his adopted home of D.C. made the switch from Bullets to Wizards.  He said all of the fans hate the name and think it's generic and are constantly asking their owner, Ted Leonsis, to change the name back to the Bullets.

Wilbon then countered that Kornheiser would be in favor of our switch to the Hornets then, because the Hornets were the original name and harkened to more successful, happier times.  Kornheiser said absolutely and he thinks it's a great move to the Hornets for us.  Both Wilbon and Kornheiser then ended the segment concurring that it's the best move for us and that we're trying to reconnect with the community in a way that the Bobcats couldn't.

Kornheiser also said being named the Bobcats was like Jed York buying the Niners and changing their name to the "Jedcats."

Wilbon concluded by saying it's a great move and we should have always been the Hornets.

Just seeing the impact this decision has made on my Facebook/Twitter feeds from people I didn't think were even fans, it's already a great decision.  Yeah it sucks that these same people (myself included) weren't huge Bobcats supporters, but if even 1/5th of the people posting about the name change stick around to be Hornets fans, it's worth it.

    • I feel like we are running out of time on dodging this bullet.  It will be us within 5 years or less imo.
    • Brother, I don't have a clue about what to watch, Ive been victim to too many "reality TV" scams. Bear Grylls was the last straw for me.... wait a second I did watch early pawn stars for about 6 full seasons. That slop 90 Day Fiance, Temptation Island, and marriage at first sight shows should be banned. Total trash that get insane ratings.  The last series I watched with GREAT joy and excitement was the first Dexter series on showtime. They do not make any TV movie slop for me in the last 20 or so years. New Dexter was a complete joke. Besides having one gem hidden each year, example I liked dune..... but Im a Syfy junkie.  Hell recently Im on the wine mom schedule with murder shows Forensic Files, dateline, any murder shows copies. My TV/movies knowledge is 20 years ago when history channel had Modern Marvels, MTV played music videos, and BET had Comic View. My gods do I miss those days... Plus Im on a terrible Habit with YouTube shorts, I need to do better...... Sucks being a old soul in this era.
    • Idk maybe. Guys like Favre, Rodgers, Brees also only having 1 kinda takes the heat off the Colts only getting 1 with Manning. And none of those QBs had to deal with the Pats dynasty or Steelers/Ravens mini-dynasties (no they are not dynasties but both those teams were in the mix pretty much every year in the AFC and both won 2 SBs in Manning’s career). Honestly think if the Manning Colts were in the NFC they’d have won 2-3.   An elite QB is a big deal but you still have to build a team around them. They could’ve been like the Dolphins with Marino.
