Interesting look at the NFL Top 100 page

I dont think it was a stretch at all for Manning to be #2. He did everything expected of him last year and that was damn near impossible in the first place. Limited talent on offense, good defense. That offense had nothing before he got there, their defense was carrying them. AAaaand then theres the neck thing.

I mean so basically theyre saying if you come back from a severe injury and play really well then you should be bumped up the list. Thats fine, Im cool with that but. . where's Thomas Davis on that list then. Had to put him in the top 100 then, cmon now.

to say denver's offense had nothing before manning got there is quite an overstatement. very good skill position players and a very good offensive line. manning deserves a lot of credit for what he accomplished at his age, coming after four neck surgeries, but to rank him over rodgers is a joke. rodgers has been sacked more than any qb over last four years and has no running game, yet he is without doubt the best there is.

i was thinkin you had argued that luck wasnt any good, regardless, this is a very wise statement, especially on this board!

Nope, only an idiot would argue that.  The kid played great for a rookie.  He put up big numbers, but he had a ridiculous number of attempts and pretty low overall efficiency.  Still though, for a rookie, damn good.

had to throw, bad team, 26th ranked defense, average , at best, running game, swiss cheese offensive line. had to put bad team on his back, 7- 4th qtr comebacks, 11-5 record. you mention ridiclous number of attempts, and you mention that to account for him breaking yardage record. but that is a testament to his greatness. had to throw, no running game, most games playing from behind,  and his throws were the fourth longest in the league. i think his total yards throwing were the least impressive of his accomplishments, he's a winner and a leader, to say nothing of his physical skills. those who focus on lucks attempts, qbr, completion pct, etc, are not seeing what he accomplished, and are not seeing all that he brings to the table. that said, at least you are giving him some props. good job!

How long has Rodgers been in that system though? Denver cut Mcgahee this year if that indicates what they thought of his value. Thomas was coming off surgery, Decker was his main guy. Yeah the o-line was great but its literally the one thing that Denver couldnt do without. Manning coming off of neck surgery, would never have come to Denver otherwise anyways.

Rodgers is of course a great quarterback. He lit everyone up and did his champ thing for sure. Im just sayin, the people who voted werent using any consistent criteria that makes sense. If Im going to justify someone being #2 at least let it be the greatest QB who has ever played the game. . .who managed to still show why he is thought of that way.

In boxing they use to say "youve got to beat the champ to take the belt not just go toe to toe and edge him out." Idk, its an old saying maybe. Whatevs Im not crying for Rodgers when guys were obviously snubbed and robbed AALLL up and down our roster.

Luck sucks, how is that for a rhyme?
