Preseason format

I wish they would just drop one of the preseason games and roll with 16 regular season games and 3 preseason games while starting the season one week early.

and do this. have 2 preseason games. a "bye" where the 3rd game would have been to give teams time to rest and recharge and assess the talent they have then have the 4th or now 3rd game.

you may ease up injuries and allow a rested product to start the season all at the same time.

I actually have more of an issue with Goodell and his cronies messing with a system that isn't broken. They are going to milk this cow dry then retire. With 18 games I believe attendance will drop for certain games, especially in Cincinnati, St. Louis and Jacksonville.

Fix ticket prices for preseason great, but how are they going to make it more "appealing" to the casual football fan is beyond me. I personally am a huge fan of being able to watch the battles that are taking place in camp, translate onto the field.

Don't jeopardize a better finished product so more people will go to bars and tune in for regular season games. I'd be especially upset if the two extra games we got were the Raiders and Jags.

I've never understood the whole "2 game" preseason thing, I've also never understood why there is 4 preseason games.

Why can't both sides just agree that 3 is the correct number? The third preseason game is already considered the "dress rehearsal" with the 4th being another look at the young players. The 3rd is when most guys are ready to go, fired up, and it would save from having to watch another abysmal preseason finale where a player has a chance of getting hurt for nothing.

I think they should play 2 preseason games but have 2 scrimmages (like fan fest, but wth another team, each team hosts one fest.  The regular season increases one game and it is played at one of several sites overseas.  If we want to expand the market to Europe, for example, they do not  have to have a home team right away.  If there are 16 games played overseas/in foreign countres each year, and lets say we designate 4 cities--London, Beriln, Rome, and Toronto--then each city could host 4 games.   If they can support that for several years, then you have a case for expansion.

So each team has 1 home preseason game, 1 home scrimmage/fan fest, and they split the proceeds from an international, neutral field.    To me, that has the potential to be more lucrative than 2 home preseason games.

The schedule would then have 8 hiome games, 8 away games, 1 international game on a neutral field.
