I sincerely hope that we do use the read option this year, just not at the rate as last. Our division rivals can't stop it (sans Tampa who had some success slowing it down). New Orleans and Atlanta look awful against anyone with anything remotely resembling a mobile qb.

My expectation is it's our base offense of the past two years with a lot less read option and minus some of the "cute" stuff that Chudzinski pulled.

 

Couldn't help notice that the other night not a single read option play was run with Newton playing.  They didn't throw those in until they had Anderson in at quarterback.

 

(odd, huh?)
