Surprised our buddy Welbeck didn't get a card there. Even the announcers were floored when it was neither card nor penalty kick.

 

 

Happy with the result, but am nonplussed as to how we lose focus so easily after scoring. This is the third time we've been scored on just after scoring recently. I mean, they have to know the other team wants to get one back, right? Sheesh!

 

You didn't have to worry about that against Liverpool :cool:

I'm hoping the rumors are true that liverpool are close to buying Mohamed Salah from Basel and Christian Tello on loan.

 

Tello is likely a no-go.  Barca don't want to move him under any circumstances this month.

 

Basel are really playing hardball with Salah. Looks like LFC are willing to pay between £9-12m, but Basel want like £20-22m, which is just ridiculous.

 

Leverkusen has already rejected a bid from LFC for Sidney Sam as well. Liverpool are looking for Coutinho/Sturride-esque buys, which I just think aren't going to happen.

Also, is Bayern single-handedly ruining German football? I mean, there only legitimate competition was Borussia for a short time, but now they've just bought all of Dortmund's players. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they buy Reus in a year or so. It's ridiculous.

 

It would suck to be a Schalke or Moenchengladbach fan you'll never have a chance.  That's why I'm enjoying the BPL so much this season. Well actually it's because Liverpool is playing well and Suarez is putting up one of the best performances in BPL history.

Apparently Julian Draxler wants to join Arsenal and Arsene Wagner expected to sign him this summer. Looks like Cazorla might be for sale. Ozil took Cazorla spot and Cazorla has too much talent to be on the bench.

Would love to get Cazorla, my first choice in that area would be Mata, however he is not getting sold to a rival just like I don't think Cazorla would either.

They wouldn't loan Tello out even with the way Alexis and Pedro are playing and Messi coming back?

I think Salah can be an impact if we get him.  I just want Sturridge back man.

According to Barca, Tello is going nowhere this month. I don't really know why, but they don't even want to part ways with him via a loan.

 

Salah would be a good player for us, but I think Basel's price tag is just too high.  Sturridge was apparently a full participant in training starting yesterday and could be a surprise inclusion in the squad this weekend.

      I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.

      Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
