Would as many fan bases as this, stat watch cam after having first two seasons like this?

I am just wondering. Many regard cam's first two season as one of the best if not the best first two seasons for a quarterback ever. Yet some panthers fans(which is seeming like many) who instead rather watch every move he makes and allow him very little room for mistakes before they call for his head. People are stat watching him and other qbs as if his job was on the line. It just seems ridiculous to me. Anyone else feel the same?

It's downright amazing that Cam went from being a JaMarcus Russell/Ryan Leaf level of bust in the pre-draft talks to having the best first two seasons a pro QB has ever had in the history of the NFL. Think about it. The expectations for Cam are so massive that any pass he throws is constantly being over evaluated.

Finally got on the laptop today and realized you were the guy with the nice sig who knew lol.

I'd like for him to improve his decision making and work on the fade and back sholder throw.

other than that..............just go play your ass off dude!

And I would like for Cam to get some offensive help. Something tells me if he did his decision making and fade and back shoulder throws would improve.

Instead the offense that was one of the worst offense in the league when Cam showed up has not really upgraded in any position save QB.

I agree, it is weird the way half of the Carolina "fans" are still unsure about him and question him. I agree he has room to improve but it is ridiculous that fans are not thrilled to have him on our team.

#1. Who's not thrilled? We're all thrilled to have Cam as our QB of the future.

#2. We will always question the QB's play.............always!

#3. No one should be unsure of Cam's talents but, you have too hope for more development.

(which is normal with young QB's)

PS.........Cam nut huggers had better grow some thick skin.........

it ain't going to be pretty if things go wrong and it won't always be the coaches fault.

First of all, who here is saying you can't question qb play? You are too caught up in labeling people cam nuthuggers which is immature. This is about supporting your franchise qb and allowing for his continued development. This is the pre-season and people are stat watching as if these games matter. It's just ridiculous.

Do you know why???

You know what is more interesting though? He has 2 superbowls and can still play horrible. Maybe you should notice that more than I do. Yes you can play horrible in the preseason and still be a qb who can go to the superbowl.

Stats are for losers. I'm as hopeful for this season as anyone, but I've not seen anything in these 2 preseason games that indicate to me this team will be any better than the past 2 seasons. I love the folks that say "it's only preseason". Yep, it sure is, but what you see from the 1st teamers is typically a good indication of what's to come and so far it looks awful including Cam. If they look like that again this week I think we are in for a long season and many heads will roll.

    • fuging Christ dude this isnt hard.  Like at all.  I get you simping for this poo team is your thing but sometimes you have to look at reality.   Even removing his bum knee from the equation, none of this made sense.  He is 31.  He has been paid handsomely for his service here.  He was currently under contract for this season.  Why in the holy fug did anything have to be done 2 weeks before the season started.   The people for this move, in this thread are saying A) He deserved it (this is the nfl it doesnt work like that  B) It frees up cap space (then why in the fug didnt we do this in Feb or C) You logic (We are getting a deal at 53 million guaranteed for the next 3 years.   You realize with this deal we cannot cut or trade his ass for 3 years.  You understand this right?   So in my opinion we should have let this ride into the offseason and go from there, what he is going to threaten to walk, big fuging deal he would be 32 on a chronically bad knee, what other moronic franchise is going to give him 40 million up front?  It wasnt going to happen.   And you are acting like its impossible to replace a 32 year old RT with a bum knee.  Just go and draft someone, move Icky to RT.  There are tons of options instead of extending this dude 2 weeks before the fuging season.  The truth is Morgan and the shitheads in the FO fell for this dudes crying act and got all sentimental and shelled out another ext.  We are a poverty ass franchise that doesnt act professionally
    • Amazing what the prospect of being traded to Carolina will do for contract negotiations.
    • 5 Im glad football is back but after the embarrassment that was the browns pre season game where our starting D made Sanders look like a serviceable NFL QB, I lost hope again for a successful Panthers campaign this year.  I do hope I’m wrong!
