top 5 Defense, bottom 10 Offense

I think people are going to be disappointed with how high of a bar they are setting for this D. Be prepared for it to not be as dominant as you think.....

Good yes, great no.

Backup lead Pitt team drove right down the field on our starters last night to open the game...

They will likely show flashes of domination....not be dominant

Didn't that happen in the ravens game last week? Flacco drove down on us the first drive and scored a touchdown. The D then preceded to dominate him the rest of the game.

Ravens were the ideal offense for our D....

The weeks we play teams like NE, Philly etc.....is the time reality will set in. Up tempo and don't try to set up the long ball....basically they neutralize a DL and your D gets tested.

its always easier in life to not get your hopes up about anything. Panther football will break your heart every time. We will never be anything but mediocre team. Don't even get your hopes up for a good draft pick they will find a way to win a few meaningless games and we pick middle of the road. Where some teams have a few superstars we don't. Even the media hates us. we have thrown together the dregs of football.woe is us,woe, woe, woe.

Alas there's always next year. This year is done before we begin.

Have I got it right?

What can one say: The Panthers' defense was the star of the Preseason. They showed up and showed out. Let's come it was a sign of things to come for them. The offense had their struggles but in all honesty, if they can put up points and the defense continues to make the opposing team hell, this team should finish their season at least where they should have last season...with a 10-6 record. It's not an impossible or unrealistic thought. Especially when the team could have done so in 2011 and 2012 if it wasn't for the defense.

As I strongly believe from the beginning when watching this team play, the biggest problem was your defense, lack of discipline, and confidence.

Remember the last two SB teams won their championships more on defense than offense. If this offensive team play selfless football this season, I can see this team at least making into and past the first round of the play-offs.

10 bucks says after our 1st game we are bottom 10 in the league in offense

So after we play a top 3 defense that we only scored 10 points on last year we will be bottom 10 offense.    Come on guy.. really?

Just admit.. you made an over react sky is falling post and now are going to consistently post to try and justify it.  Unless Cam Newton is injured it would be almost impossible to end the year with a bottom 10 offense.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
