I am a foster parent, and I have always thought that if you give a child a reason to believe, a reason to hope, and a reason to dream, they can overcome any circumstance that they were born into.

Nothing is more unfair in life than a kid who is never given a chance.

Agree with that second part.

I'm a foster parent too, I have 2 16 year old boys that keep me very busy. The kids I foster usually come with gang related issues, criminal involvement and things like that. I think like you as well that if you give a kid a chance that they can overcome many circumstances but I have seen so many cases of kids being so far entrenched in the rough lifestyle they've adopted that its almost impossible to pull them out of it. I don't mean to derail this thread, maybe ill message you I have some questions about how fostering works in the states.
