Todd Gurley

I know this is waaaaay to early because he's not going to come out till 2015 but I want this kid Bad.

Home grown kid with Peterson like Size power speed combo.

Just as an armchair gm i'd try to get cam and the D tied up, then try to fill as much spots with the Draft

I'd be Very tempted to pull an Atlanta Julio situation if he ends up going top 10.  Getting rid of the old smash and dash with a Gurley Barner combo in the Shula offense=Cams best friend.  Even if we traded up for him.  We could get guys with the cap space post Williams/Stewart to fill in those other gaps such as WRs OL etc.

I'd say Gurley is a little more athletic than lynch.  Lynch is about 215 and runs around a 4.48-4.5

Peterson- 6'1 225 4.4

Gurley- 6'1 235 4.4

Gurley can run through or around people like Peterson.

i doubt bother comparing any rb to peterson because he's just on another level.

he sort of reminds me of marshawn lynch tho

i can tell you without looking it up that those numbers aren't accurate

Which ones.  Gurley played at about 230-240 last year.  He was a AA trackster in high school in Tarboro (ran a 4.36 Laser time in a combine his senior year).  He is a Freak size speed combo.

Looking toward 2015, I wouldnt mind trading up for Gurley if he is the real deal. Im not even sure if Dwill will be on this team next year. With all the injuries throughout Stew's career and a lot of money tied up to him, he may not even be on this team in 2015. I'm not placing the crown on Barner bc I dont believe that he can be full time cow bell for any team. He's a good 3rd back that comes in and change the pace of the game. With that, RB could be a possibility going into 2015. But, first we have to fill a lot of needs before we can talk about another RB. We have too much needs with too much guys on their last year of contract now.

But, I'm not sure if I would rather have Todd Gurley or "Amari Cooper" in 2015.

I'd take Gurley over Cooper.  Gurley has that it all; the power 230-240 bruiser, and the speed 4.36-4.4 40 track star speed.  He has been the best back in the SEC even as a Freshman (bama kid was good but would love to see what would happen were they to swap OL).  Gurley would be more important to Shula's O than cooper as well.

We do have many needs we need to address such as WR, OL, and DB.  Remember how much we have invested into Stew and Dwill (thank you Hurney)?  We pick up Gurley and put him with Barner which could end up being just as good as the other 2 with Cam.  Stew and Dwill will be gone, freeing up a Nice chunk of change to get solid OL, DB, WR.  May not get a superstar (can't have them at every position) at those position but can definitely get Solid starters at all those spots with that money.  Especially after we get done with this draft which I think Gettleman can knock 1-2 of those in the first 2 rounds of this years draft.

Wrap up a top front 7 for the next couple years, grab 1-2 top calibre DB's in the first round or 2 this year.  Solidifies potentially the best D in the league.

Wrap up Cam, have our franchise QB for the next several years.  Draft Gurley even if we have to trade a 3rd or even more that season (doubt it'll take more unless projected top 5).  Even if he does continue to improve, pull a Falcons Julio situation.   Have a Stud young RB duo one being potential superstar.  If still have 2nd still continue to strengthen that secondary or grab a OL.  Bye Bye stewie/dwill.  Hello Solid WR or 2 and or solid OL.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
