Does Cam make his WRs better?

Awesomeness!!

Lets do it!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you know that that is a stupid sentiment.

When you have a great speed RB you don't dumb him off in hopes to get a great power RB just because one fits your ridiculous fantasy of how you think the position should be played. You play to the great player's strengths and build your philosophy around his abilities, regardless of how high it makes Matthias' panties bunch. You play to his strengths, as any coach not named Rivera or Shula knows.

If this team were to give up on Cam in hopes of finding a more "traditional" player there is a part of me that would feel the team deserved for the new player to fail miserably while Cam went on to a team that built the roster and schemes around his strengths. It would serve the team right for living in the past as they have done time and time and time again with Richardson at the helm

Okay, confusing looking at the last word of the thread title.  Just playing, I'm not sure what my problem is.  I see other teams fans dogging Cam, I stick up for him like he is my brother.  I see our fans blaming everyone but Cam, it pisses me off even more.  Just not a happy camper right now.  If I could somehow break up with the Panthers, my life would be much better.  And by break up, I mean just ditch football all together, not switch teams.

I'm critical of Cam like I am with any other player. He needs to improve. He had a bad game. I've seen that guy literally carry this team before though. I'm not going to call for his head after one game. We need improvement everywhere.

What I am not going to do though, is sit here with my hands over my ears and pretend we have a real WR corps.

Seattle did too: Harvin.

Yeah and even without him they still have talent surrounding Wilson.

If you can sit here and tell me that you feel we have done enough to surround Cam with viable weapons the last two years, then don't even quote me anymore. Because you are delusional beyond any assistance whatsoever.

Rookie year: 89, Olsen, and Shockey

The last two years, not so much. But I don't believe that you need 4-5 receivers to be good like a Rodgers. Wilson threw over 400 yards and found 1 reliable no2 receiver (Tate), 1 legit slot ( Baldwin) and 7 other mediocre and scrubs vs. us. Kaepernick threw for 400 yards vs. GB with 1 legit receiver and another TE. Fans never want to point the finger at Cam. I'm a fan of Cam but IMO he's clearly holding back this offense. 89 and Olsen should be have 80-120yards game each and every week. Instead we're looking at 40-80 yards.

Never in history have you see a QB statistically dominate with a terrible offensive line. When the OL can provide NO pressure at all on Cam for 5 straight plays then we can talk

You think QB's like getting hit? Or are used to getting hit? Why you think it's the longest lasting position in the NFL, cause in practice they surely don't get hit

look at the last 3 drafts and tell me who the main offensive weapons were for cam. heck even viable additions to the oline.

i think the oline and the play calling is really holding back the offense

    • Go do this in the tinderbox you can create your own thread there if you want.
    • This is the new thing lol. It’s all open to interpretation and it’s your fault for your interpretation. The guy saying “stop teasing” was really very upset with Bryce Young being injured, not excited. Ignore his other posts that seem to indicate the opposite. And don’t you know “Exciting not to see Bryce!” was in no way happy with Bryce Young getting injured. Again, don’t bother looking at the rest of the posts for further context. And definitely nobody was making fun of him by saying he was injured by the water boy bumping into him, or it was a gentleman’s benching, or his feelings got hurt. And the comments about him getting tackled by a finger graze or getting taken down by a stiff fart were not hyperbolic over reactions to the play that just happened, it was just general conversation completely unrelated to that play. And of course none of their views are tainted by a desire to see Bryce Young fail, they all want the best for him and the team, that’s how you know for sure that you are totally taking all the posts the wrong way. Really can’t believe you would make up all these lies. gaslighting /ˈɡasˌlīdiNG/ noun noun: gaslighting the practice of psychologically manipulatingsomeone into questioning their own sanity, memory, or powers of reasoning.
    • I mean we had more of a defensive need in the 2025 draft than we may in the 2026 draft(so far). But we took a TE. We did it in the 5th round. Also he has overwhelmingly been our best TE to date. He and the FA pickup. I think you just have an extremely skewed view of TE's in the NFL. I would implore you to take a look at some draft history, depth charts and career progressions of a lot of those players. You are going to see ample examples of lower round guys being drafted and then immediately starting at TE. The reason it isn't rare is that there aren't many TE's taken in the 1st at all.  It's the same with other positions. You think that it's impossible to find a C outside the 1st? Well....most of them aren't 1st rounders because they rarely get taken there. How about OG? The NFL is mostly non-1st round OG's and the elite tier is almost all not former 1st round OG's. How about RB's? Pretty similar right? That's not just numbers, it's positional value historically. High value positions litter the first round. It's always been that way.
