Another Indictment of the Coaching Staff

You know how to stop all the fugging blitzes? Swing passes to the RB. Using the flats. Screens.

Trying to take 5 and seven step drops with only enough time to make one read before you have to bail out of the pocket isn't going to cut it.

I don't understand what we are doing some games.

We are making it more difficult than it needs to be sometimes.

No doubt you are right about needing an offensive coach and more weapons, but almost all of the other young QBs are capable of outstanding play from the pocket.

And yes, Cam started hot, but when he doesn't run or present the possibility of it to a defense, it catches up to him later in the game, which is what happened today.

You think that's what happens or the fact that 3 receivers running routes with a bad blocking oline becomes easier to play against? Our offense so bland and old school

The biggest issue I see and the most overlooked underrated stat is redzone td's. Cam through a 16 game season threw 8 last season with a 68% rating. This year he's at 66%. Every QB in the playoffs last year threw for 15 or more in the redzone except Kaep including garbage Schaub. You say well Schaub had A.J. Dalton had Green. Flacco had Boldin. So on and on. Then you say Cam had... had who?

Well, that plays a huge role in it, certainly. But, as I said, when Cam runs it actually helps the OL. When he forces himself to stay in the pocket, it plays into the OLs weakness. And to further your point, I don't think were using 3 WR sets nearly as often under Shula, but rather, we're running a lot of slow-developing passes with RB-centric sets. Which makes what our coaches are doing even more mind-boggling...

Also, come to think of it, why was Hartsock even activated today??? LOL, that would suggest that we were planning to establish the run game, which we didn't.

Not just losing, spiraling into the type of franchise that just loses and only loses.

and does nothing but offer excuses and platitudes.

i'm sick if it, but hey...that's the panthers, right?  a "good team" that just can't win.

they make you think that they are just about to turn the corner and that they've figured crap out but then they manage to screw it all up again.

    • He's not wrong though. You talk like a politician on here. Leaving yourself just enough wiggle room to say you never fully counted Bryce out if you need to....But we can all see it. Just say you think he is a bust outright and you will have to type a lot less. Obfuscating your opinion behind QB3 competitions etc....
    • Most EVs are in the 90+ e-MPG meaning some measurement house somewhere compares the EV to a similar ICE model and works out how much is costs to charge (on average) versus fill up as a point of comparison. Talking long term, in the hundreds of thousands of miles?  No clue.  Some early signs are that EV batteries maintain 80% charge over 400k miles.  So there's that.   The challenge and charm of an ICE vehicle is being able to park it under a tree, get your jack stands out and tinker with your engine.  There's just not that same level of complexity in an EV.  I saw someone estimate there are 200 or so moving parts in an EV, and 2000 in an ICE vehicle.  I'm not a part counter so I can't really speak to that. I think that the EV is more the future than any type of combustion engine.  Those will still be around in specific purposes, but for most people - an EV will be the superior option in terms of efficiency.  I say that as someone who loves stupid horsepower numbers out of turbo 4 bangers and inline 6s...  I am one of those tinkers when I can be. A bigger issue for EVs is going to be the ownership versus lease.  Right now, there are INSANE leases on EVs, which is great, but what do you have at the end of that lease?  Nada, maybe some equity if you're lucky.  Where as I'm almost done paying for my car, and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off (or my son wrecks it when he starts to drive).  Will EV makers do the smartphone thing and build in planned obsolesce?  Stop updating software?  I love the tech in EVs, and I think getting more cars and trucks off the road is a good thing.  But I am still just a little concerned.  Capitalism has gotten far too extractive.
