it does suck that there's not the corresponding wins, but knowing that this is a talented team and doing a lot of things right gives me hope. it's just a matter of time before the wins start falling into place, imo.

 

still thinking that the thing that has been holding us back the most is the coaching, but with rivera and shula doing what they did against the vikes and giants and seeing their failings against the cards and comparing it all with the first couple weeks...i think they may be turning the corner. maybe they already have.

 

 

if the players fumble and drop passes at the wrong time it doesn't matter who's coaching this team.

DVOA is actually scarily accurate and we're 8th in DVOA.

 

DVOA has three main advantages over more traditional ways to judge NFL performance. First, by subtracting defense DVOA from offense DVOA (and adding in special teams DVOA, which is described below), we can create a set of team rankings that's based on play-by-play efficiency rather than total yards. Because DVOA does a better job of explaining past wins and predicting future wins than total yards, it gives a more accurate picture of how much better (or worse) a team really is relative to the rest of the league.

But there are many stats that are a better predictor of future wins and losses than past wins and losses.

i believe it we just have to put it on the field. we are so hot and cold. one minute we dominate and the next be get blown out. once this changes we will be a constant playoff team

That may be so... But I just want to see us win. I know that we're better than what our record indicates; but at the same time we have yet to prove many Panthers Fans' opinions with what we're showing on the field.
