Beason Compensation: 7th round pick

What year was Rivers a pro bowler ??

Same year he was injured before the year he was injured with surgery and rehabbed for 24 months. Maybe the year he sucked ass for 3 games and his defense played better w/o him.

Beason had no value. He was/is one of my fav Panthers, but in his condition, age, and performance in recent history made him basically worthless.

We won't have two 7th round picks BTW, because we traded our original 7th for Colin Jones, an end of the roster STer who has 2 tackles on the season and wouldn't have made the final 53 man roster of the 49ers and was days away from being cut when we traded for him.

That would be Hurney. The same guy that signed Beason to a gigantic contract that ultimately is the reason he's no longer a Panther.

He's actually made some plays

But we don't Have a losing record, do we? Nor is there any sign so far that we miss Beason on defense.

I gave a list of every team not in our division that runs a 4-3 and who their starter was when Beason asked for a trade. Show me who in that list had a bigger need than the Giants (or any need at all).

And I'll give you a hint: If you base any of your premise on h idea that maybe a 3-4 team would have wanted him, you've pretty much lot the debate (i.e. Clearly showing you don't know enough about football to know what you're talking about).

Ok if us winning makes this irrelevant, then Beast playing like a man that's showing some form of coming back makes that injury excuse irrelevant.

Am I right?

Jenkins was on IR twice before we traded him. Was overweight and had locker room issues. Went to Jets, had one good year and tore his ACL two more times again. They gave us a 2 picks for that. Im sure they were hoping for a lil more production than what they got, but they didn't let that stop them from doing the deal

No, you're not.

Beason is playing better now because he's back to playing middle linebacker. That wasn't going to happen here because Kuechly is just a better player. That is unless you're willing to argue that the team should have benched or moved Kuechly (hint: going that route will pretty much destroy your credibility).

Yes, the Jets gave up too much for Jenkins because 1) they had a need and 2) the team has a long history of being poorly run. You wanna show me where the like situation existed this year?

I've given you a list of teams and their MLB starters, and you've continually avoided it. Go back to the list and show me who beside the Giants had a need that was worth trading a pick to fill.

That, or just save yourself the embarrassment of making a bad choice and admit you have nothing to stand on outside of this ethereal notion that "somebody" would have made a better offer.

I've given you a list of teams and their MLB starters, and you've continually avoided it. Go back to the list and show me who beside the Giants had a need that was worth trading a higher pick to fill.

I didn't ignore it, it's irrelevant cause it already happened. I'm responding to you saying we couldn't got higher than a 7th, which like I said when the rumor had it was for a 5th. A 5th is higher than a 7th. Was you or anybody saying then, well we should have got a 7th for him. 6-7th rounders are for bums. 3-5th are for guys that has some playing history, but with injuries or problems. You know what a 1-2 rounder are for. You said it yourself we got him out of here, didn't negotiate and didn't wait. That's the issue. Did you respond to me saying we didn't negotiate for a receiver. Saying what teams would or would not do like you're a part of their front office is the same as me saying Gettle didn't attempt to trade for a receiver like I'm a part of the Panthers front office

By the way, we could have got a 4th from a team just to bring Beason in for a BACKUP MLB. That's definitely worth a 4th rounder as guys go down all the time. I'll wait for your counter to say no he's not worth a 4th to play a backup role, he wants to start and would have been a locker room problem and blah blah

Please stop!!!!!! Scott us yawning you.

You actually think we could have gotten a 4th from a team who wanted him as a backup?

    • Not in same league. Caldwell just hit a 10.00 on the RAS. 2nd out of 3830 from 1987 onward.  https://x.com/MathBomb/status/2027885023387349047 Yeah I mean Louis had a sub 9.00 RAS. Still very very good, no doubt. Louis is small, no 2 ways about it. He is likely a sub package lb in nickel packages or specialized WLB. Be fine ST gunner to start for sure. 6 foot flat and 220lb is pushing it for a starting LB. At 10 to 20lbs less than the other LBs he'd better be closer to the top in most timed drills. He's gonna be challenged when some of the wrs in the class can matchup bigger stronger faster, much less TE in the run game.  Yeah instinct matter and he has them, but that size is a massive red flag compared to many of the other LBS in this class.    Rodriguez is the LB that really climbed this week from a pure grit guy to great flash with athleticism people wrote off cause he was a QB at first at UVA. 18.4mph in the backpedal. Production the last 2 years were great. I'd be thrilled with him as the future mike.   Hill likely moved out of 51 and into the top 45 picks ( Ravens at 45 I can't imagine don't bite if he makes it there). Honestly Hill imo is a 1st rounder and I'd be ok with him as he fits the MLB we have missed the last few years. People would crow it's a reach but he's top 30 all-time I'm RAS for a LB at 9.9+ . Plus he was big time in big games when he was healthy. And that br a big check: meds.
    • Miller, Melo, Coby, Moose, and Bridges all on the floor at the same time must be a nightmare for defenses lol. Switch one out for Kon and still a nightmare. Coby really does bring a true 6th man value and looks like he could start if Melo was out after only a few games of getting his feet wet.
