It doesnt break mine. Without those tough losses, IMO, we simply wouldn't be the team we are today. I don't think we would be 8-3. Just being honest. We needed the wake up call. I believe we will be much better going forward because of it.

No way we go for it on 4th & 2, much less 4th & 10, if we won those games. Different team entirely. IMHO.

This is a great point. If Rivera doesn't choke away the Bills game Riverboat is never born.

I've heard folks say that Rivera's philosophy change was remarkable and rare, but I can't help but think that it was just a game management tweak that he forced himself to address. I mean we're really talking about him simply being more willing to trust the offense to convert a short 4th down over a field position flipping punt or an fg. You can't automatically call that the difference between a crappy HC and a successful one. I know that if it is impacting close games too often it needs to be addressed. I'm just glad we aren't talking "hot seat" anymore.

It is more than just trusting the offense. Rivera is a defensive guru who has played it by the book with great results on the defensive side of the ball. Both as a player and a coach he has played it by the odds and counted on the defense to win the game and the offense to not screw it up. To change that to the point that he would go for it on 4th and 10 from his own 20 yard line is epic. It is a complete mind shift from what he learned and knew for literally decades. It is a huge shift in thinking.

Its clishe, it looks and feels like he is coaching off the instinct of a player instead of by the unofficial "book"

It will be a game of epic proportion.

if you guys fall to seahawks next week, and we take over tampa, our game on SNF will be a battle for division lead and also a victory will put both Cam & Ron over .500

This team is hungry, do not underestimate.

Yes it will!  I could have told you these games would be tough before the season started simply because regardless of record you always play us tough BUT i never would have thought these games between us could be for the division.  Especially after the start you all had.

The team is certainly hungry and I definitely do not underestimate yall.  You have a damn good defense and the type of offense that gives us fits (mobile QB and a strong running game).  Put those together and this should be a great game if we allow you all to keep it close.  My hope is that we score early and of the 7 pt variety.  What sets this offense apart from our offenses of the past under Sean P is our redzone efficiency.  We just havent been as deadly in the RZ as in years past and find ourselves settling for FG's too often.

We are a better team in Prime Time and definitely play our best ball in this atmosphere.  We also rise up or fall down to the level of our competition.  So I was pleased to see the flex sched grab our game and that you guys continue to make this game look interesting

He is doing a great job trusting the offense to make big plays which is exactly what they and particular Cam needed.  Since Rivera has shown confidence in his ability to make a big play, he has flourished and met all the coaches expectations. He needed Rivera to believe in him to the point that the game is in his hands to win or lose.

    • I would write “give remmers tight end help” on a yellow sticky note and stuck it in shulas playbook the night before superbowl 50.
    • And don’t worry about Bryce he will be great… Peyton Manning had a horrible rookie year too 😂
    • Nothing wrong with it at all until you start telling others they are bad fans or not fans. But you are the good fan because you never say negative stuff about the team.    I did many years of that type of uninformed fanning because there really was no info and coverage like there is with the internet.    I mean, I used to go to the store and get Street and Smith’s annual football issue. That was about the extent of what you could get if you didn’t live in a big city with sportswriters covering and reporting.  There was no video to look at or replay the games and if you didn’t live in the market you could only rarely see your football team play.    TI have fanned since being a kid in the early 1960s, and as late as 1995 - ‘97 I lived in Atlanta and good luck getting more than 3 or 4 games a year on TV. No radio either. No print coverage outside of an AP recap and box unless they played Atlanta.  People today that have always had the network connection don’t know.    I wasn’t very educated about the Panthers until I finally got internet.
