Something I can't get out of my head...

The post game announcers for MNF said something that I just can't stop thinking about... They started talking about the decline of RG3's play making skills and someone said "Hey now, lets not start saying RG3 is done. Just look at what Cam Newton came back from, if Cam could come back from what he did so can RG3" they all shook their head and agreed.. What did he come back from?

I keep thinking to myself.. Came back from what? he is yet to have a season that didn't impress. He never got injured... is the NFL still that sour about Newton succeeding?

its lame pack mentality....yes they are that lame.   This is unacceptable (in my lemongrab voice)   He balled out last year and had no slump....maybe he is soooo good that they expected him to literally fly and shoot laser beams out of his eyes....all jokes aside they see his skillset and they know what he can be and they expect it now from him. Shouldnt they of all people understand that the cerebral part comes from time and experience and film study etc.....

I think they made their minds up before the draft. I won $500 to my bro in law(steelers fan) who said Cam wouldnt be a starter anywhere in 4 years.....true story he paid me halfway through last season. he gets it why cant they.

RG3 is absolutely terrible this year... Cam never struggled anywhere close to that level his 2nd year.  Anyone see that graphic where it said the Redskins are playing from behind like 68% of the time and with a lead only 18% of the time (worst in the NFL)?  Most of his stats are a result of garbage time when defenses let up on him late in games.  At least Cam was keeping poo competitive, and we got robbed of a few wins.

Most the games I've watched of theirs the damn game is out of hand halfway through the 2nd quarter and RG3 has trouble just completing a pass.  Newton never had that problem - hell, we actually LED damn near every single one of our games going into the 4th outside of a couple of them.  Only got blownout twice.

ESPN just can't get over RG3, Luck and Kaep.. Luck looked like he was the only one still surviving but the second half of this season Luck looks lost.. he's imploding the last two games. ESPN can't get over these guys.. I know Russell Wilson is often talked about but I feel even Wilson is overshadowed by RG3, Luck and Kaep. When it comes to young QB's I want to hear about Newton/Wilson not ESPN's trio of garbage.

I'm going to lay off the hate and just tell it like it is.  These professional analysts don't actually know enough about our team.  They do not care and there is no incentive for them to care.  The only thing they know about the Panthers is their W-L records.  I would be very surprised if they knew who the Bills starting quarterback is without looking it up. Stop respecting and giving attention to people that offer opinions without doing simple research.

    • if  ANYONE actually goes & looks at the FACTS on rookie Qb's after 2 full seasons as a starter in the NFL & they are still well below average do they rarely ever actually become top tier Qb's & instead most likely either do not recieve a second contract & or become life long backups...just saying
    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
