OT prospect for the 1st round

To many OL prospects to pass on one. La'el Collins is another guy that is a powerful run blocker that i dont believe would be to much of a reach if Lewan didnt drop. One mock from yahoo had Cameron Erving not being selected in the first. Donte Moncrief would be a hell of a second round pick.

Collins would be the favorite in the late 2nd round if available. Love the kid but imo would be a huge reach in the 2nd round.

Erving, my favorite OT in this class will be a 1st rounder easily. If for whatever reason he was to fall to our pick in the 1st, WE CANNOT PASS UP ON HIM! The kid is an all around pure LT imo.

I would love to see Taylor Lewan to fall to us in the 1st and maybe get a wr like Jarvis Landry or Moncrief in the 2nd

Wouldnt mind that situation. A lot of mocks now are having Kelvin Benjamin taken before our pick. Even one had us taking "Odell Beckham Jr." in the 1st (wouldnt mind it at all).

But, would love Lewan + Landry or Moncrief.

Greg Robinson and Cameron Erving are my two favorite OTs other than Matthews and Kouandjio.

I think that Taylor Lewan could possibly fall down into the late 1st behind those two.

Agree--while we may not have a shot at Matthews, Robinson, Erving, or Kuandijo---it is a bit much to assume that more than 5 or 6 tackles goes in the first round.

Look at the other positions with players likely to be first rounders--

QB--Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, Carr, Manziel, are likely first rounders, with McCarron a possibility. (5)

DE--Clowney, Tuitt, Murphy, Ealy (4)

WR--Watkins, Evans, Lee, Robinson, Benjamin (5)

OLB--Barr,Mack, Shazier, Beasley (4)

TE--Ebron (1)

CB--Dennard, Olomu, Verrett, Gilbert (4)

That alone is 23 spots--throw in Matthews, Robinson, Erving, and Kdjo and that is 27.

There are guards, Safeties, DTs, etc that wll go as well.

Lewan is a real possibility.

Yup exactly. I really think that there will be a run at CB: Dennard, Gilbert, Ifo, Verrett and Roby. I see all of them being 1st rounders. Hopefully that would help push some OTs down.

We cannot neglect the OL. Next year will be Jordan Gross's last lear and Im sure Travel Wharton is about to hang it up also. That means in 2 years outside of Khalil the line the line will not possess any playmakers. Atlanta,NYG, and Dolphins for example had the problem of having a makeshift O-line. The O-line is the anchor of your offense. If it is weak you get a trainwreck of a season.

There is to much talent at OT were a good one will not drop, Erving or Lewann could drop to us. Those are big hog mollies that would be a top 15 maybe even top 10 in most drafts. I promise you that those guys would be a instant upgrade over Byron Bell.

WR's tend to bust more that other picks. Im no scout but I have heard so many times during games that a WR is one of the hardest positions to transition to in the NFL because the coverages in the NFL are so advanced.

The last point is that there are some good WR's that will be available in the 2nd round like Moncrief.
