I really hope he dont. We really need an OT.

After these news, Im really leaning toward getting an OT with our 1st pick. If Im Gettleman, I would not pass on Antonio Richardson if he's there.

another guy thats going to be helped by these guys returning to school would be Billy Turner from North Dakota State, could be there in the 2nd where we pick.

It'll def help Turner. The kid has great size. He was projected as a 6-7th rounder. He could possibly go in the 4th or 5th now. I cant see him going in the 2nd or 3rd. Would be too big of a reach.

Not sure how well that pick would go over either, considering both of our projected starting guards were drafted in round 2 and 4 the last 2 years both from small schools.  People are freaking out already wanting to draft OG over them in this draft because "they are small school guys who wont hang in the NFL"

But we need an offensive line to protect Cam and give him time to throw to our receivers.  The receivers in this years draft is very deep.  We may want to consider going OT in the first round, then WR, and then CB.

Gman will go after a vet OT. Just go look at the last two decades in NYG. Since 1999 when Gettleman was the Pro Personnel Director there, they have only taken a total of "2" OL in the high rounds (both 2nd rounder). If you want to include this past draft then it's a big total of "3".

Did you not see his press conference  he said we are young team and the foundation of the team are the lineman ....he was basically yelling out Hogmollies...  I rather have a young  OT who can be a long term solution since most of core lineman are young..........If you look at 49rs OL they basically picked OL in the 1st round for 4yrs straight..... The OL in this draft prospect have size, athleticism & are probably one of the better run blocking tackles.

People don't seem to realize now that gettleman is running the show now, hes gonna do things the way he wants to, which is clearly building the lines

We are not going to come out of of the 1st round with an OT good enough to be pick at no28. This OT class which started out very strong has gotten very weak due to Erving, Ogbuehi, and Collins all staying in school. Guys like Richardson and Martin' stocks has just rose to an all time high.

Also, the 49ers didnt take OL in the 1st round for 4th straight years. Staley was a great pick in the late round. People dont want to give Singletary the credit, but he was the main dude who double dipped on Iupati and Davis (both top prospects). Other than those guys, Alex Boone (UDFA) and Jonathan Goodwin (FA) were both overachievers.

I dont see no Staley or Davis being at our no28 pick. Only legitimate OL that would be worth taking there is Cyril Richardson, and I would love it. I just dont see Gettleman making that pick. Even Xavier Su'a-Filo has tremendous value there.
