Corners, receivers, and linemen

Our three biggest holes. We need to focus on getting a big, tall receiver or TE, draft a good cornerback, and find someone to replace Bell. These three moves alone would solidify our defense and boost our offensive output dramatically. I'm sure Gettleman can and will get this done.

I am so sick.  Absolutly flat coming out of a bye week as always, Byron Bell and the rest of the online got blown up all game and the Defense was MIA.  Zero pressure on Kaep.  You wont win a game with that kind of performance.  My hat is off to SF for playing a good game but I am so sick that carolina did not show up to play at all.

We don't address the WR's and DB's the first 3 or so rounds and get overly worried about our OL, we are going to stay the same and not improve.  OL played great today until they got forced into the corner with San Fran (one of the NFL's top D)  pinned back and Blitzed due to the zero respect our WR's get due to poor play.  RB's harder when Box is Stacked.  We can suit up the OL just like the past but failing to fix the WR's and DB's and we will not improve but just stay the same (see 08 etc)  can carry us to the playoffs but when the pressure is on playing with the big dogs just get manhandled.

Not sure if you were watching on tv but even the announcers were praising the OL Cam got Ton's of time much much more than Kaep.  We just got pinned and put in a corner on 3rd and long from penalties them stacking the box and shutting the run down etc.  Just when one of the top front 7 pins back and blitzes the poo out you.  you could have a Probowl across the board OL, but your QB is only going to get slammed around like Cam.

We blitzed got all in Kaep back field.  He just had had to pick which one he wanted to throw to.  They plenty of weapons for their young QB to play with Cam didn't.

Lock up Hardy Gotta keep the Heart of this Team (the front 7) intact or we just took a major step back.

Round 1 Must Must get a Receiving threat.  WR moving Smith to Slot is what ultimately need to happen for your young franchise QB.  Then Rounds 2-4 must get another WR and fix the DB situation.  OL isnt that bad, its easy to blast them when Cam is getting hit.  But he is getting more time then Kaep just like they pointed out time after time after time today.  Kaep just has to pick Who he wants to throw to, Cam just scrambles around praying someone will finally get open.  Teams stack the box shutting do the run and pin back and blitz because there is No respect with our WRs.

Our D can Blitz all Day but DB's are going to get toasted.

Go worry about OL and grab one in the first ignore the WRs and DB and we are going to be at the same place not improve.  Our QB is going to struggle to gain confidence continuously hearing he cant throw like he's heard since college because he has no one to throw to (perfect way to Groom up your franchise QB)  He is Still going to keep getting blitzed even with that big stud 1st round OT and Still get hit.  Our Offense is Still going to get stalled if we make the playoffs our DB's are Still going to kill us when a team can hold the QB upright for a few seconds.

I trust Gettleman is going to make the right moves and build around our QB and our coach stacking that D.

Lets Draft Tre Mason I know he is a running back but we need someone fresher Williams is 30. Receivers I dont know, but I do know Hakeem isnt it and we shouldnt go for it. We can't disrupt our front seven so do the contracts need there first and then work your way out. Who is really out there is the question

    • The difference is about how much player input is allowed and encouraged in the decision making process. Top down teams tend to dictate to players how everything is handled. Disagreements are handled by the coach and players are expected to do what they are told regardless of what they think or feel.  Players are perceived as commodities to be used until we find better. In player led teams player input is encouraged and valued. Players and especially leaders are expected to settle their own disagreements and be accountable to the team but mostly to each other. Players are family to be appreciated and supported in their growth. Is the reality of football the same in both? Yeah there are limited positions, football is a business and winning is the bottom line. Coaches get final say and run the program because that is their job. But in player led teams they feel valued, appreciated, part of a larger whole. Most people who have worked at multiple jobs know exactly what I am talking about. When players try to run the show and don't value  coach input that isn't a player led team, that is a circus which we surely are familiar with in our past.
    • For our pics and trades tonight and tmrw.  Remember, Aho was a 2nd rounder and Slavin was a 4th rounder.
    • Seems to be the consensus from the talking heads. I really wish we had double dipped at center in the 2nd round. Sion will never play in the league.
