Fudge it....Trade up for Sammy watkins.

Lol at seeing the Panthers and trading up in the same sentence. We already saw what trading up for Julio did to the Falcons.

Not the same though. We have our D, they ignored theirs. We ignored our offense

Every QB has their number 1 receiver, cam need his. As long as we stay mediocre or in the playoffs record wise, we won't ever have a high pick to draft him. I hope Gettle doesn't think Nicks is the answer or Decker cause if so Cam mind as well entertain leaving after next season right now

This is why I think we tag and trade Hardy. May be able to get somewhere in the teens and get Ebron and then draft a WR like Robinson, Matthews, Benjamin or Moncrief at the end of the first.

This offseason has the potential to really set us up for the future

Yup. Carolina fans and I absolutely love Hardy. But, looking toward the future, booking Hardy to a big contract could possibly be the wrong decision. I really don't want to have 100 mil tied up to Hardy and CJ. We already made a huge mistake with Dwill and Stew.

If we can tag and trade Hardy for a 2nd rounder, I'd really take that right now. Hardy is worth much more than that, but I cant see a team willing to give that much. And if they did, those teams doesnt have the cap to sign the guy to an extension.

I was just replying to the OP. he made a thread just a little while ago about ASJ. I'm not a ASJ fan.

But I really like Ebron, athletic as hell. And that's what we need. He's a playmaker and a big target. But unless we use Hardy to trade up, Ebron will be long gone.

I was just telling you my reasons for liking Ebron more. There are plenty of excellent TE's and WR's coming out this year. If we can't get a #1 or at least a great #2, Gett Dawg has some serious personal problems. #28 is good enough.

I love hardy too, but to have that much money tied up in DL you better not have games like today when you give up 23 points.

Really limits the type of players we can bring in. I want more balance. I think with the extra picks and money saved we could do alot better. Bring in a guy like Tillman, draft WR and TE and OL with the extra pick in the second or first.

So when the front 4 struggles to get pressure on the QB like today, we have a bit of a secondary to fall back on.

It would also help out with future cap space, we need to sign Cam (hopefully this offseason) and Keek (possibly next).

evans is likely a top 10 pick, we have to throw in our first+ next years first and that might still not be enough. no thanks

Well, he will likely go after Watkins

Watkins is the best WR.....and on top of that Watkins will blow up at he combine. Watkins will put up some crazy combine numbers.

Evans likely could have a bad combine....which could impact his draft status. Watkins will be top 5. I could see Evans drop into the teens

big fan of watkins eh? i dont think u can make the assumption that he will go before evans... id rather have a 6'5 possession monster than watkins, personally. although id be happy to get either of them... wouldnt surprise me if they both go top 15

Sorry I mis read then.

Yeah there's truly no excuses this year, same could have been said about last year though too. This draft class could not be any better for our needs

    • He only wants to be traded because it's the Vikings who are calling. If he didn't want to be here, he could have retired, instead he took a pay raise to come back for another season.  I get it, it's an opportunity that he'd like to take, but we shouldn't cut off our nose to spite our face because he now wants to jump at this opportunity less than two weeks before the season starts. I'm not against trading him, I'm just against trading him for a return that doesn't help our team as much as having him on the roster would.  I'll put it this way, if a 5th is the best we can get for him from the Vikings and he's now dug in on not wanting to stay this year, I'm saying screw you and trading him to any of the other 30 teams besides the Vikings for the best offer we can get. He was perfectly happy here a week ago, if the Vikings soured him on that and then want to get him for peanuts, then screw them both.
    • Yes and no, he wants to go back and his wife most definitely wants to go back. He took a bunch of team mates to Minny and has worked out with JJ two offseasons in a row. It's where both him and his wife are from.    The money was basically a please come back and help Bryce. Pretty please...here's some more money.    Now he's agreed to a paycut to go back to the Vikings.
    • Because he won't be here next year, we aren't winning this year and we need to see if Renfrow or Horn can be that guy going forward. If Bryce isn't good enough to do poo without AT we need to find that out this year as well. I'm fine keeping him but his role needs to be slowly reduced throughout the year anyway so we know what we have for the future
