Does Cam have an asking price?

So when Andrew Luck declares he wants to get paid 18-20 million dollars next year, the colts should trade him correct?

No, not for asking. It is a negotiation. I think I said that already.if he doesn't get better how could you just give him what he asks for?

Are you kidding me? The Patriots won 3 Super Bowls when Brady was barely making a dime, and they won because of their elite defense. Brady was simply a game manager for those 3 SBs. Eli didn't have a lot of talent around him, that Giants team had team loyalty and commitment, and quite a bit of luck (actually a whole lot of luck). Those Patriots who lost the Super Bowl had 10 times the talent that the Giants did for both SBs. Peyton had some talent, but he really carried that team to the SB. And also none of those 3 QBs were paid as much as Flacco is.

brady got paid.

They all got paid at the top of their positions.

They were overpaid then too.

Inflation happens.

You're also telling a great defense wins championships?

Is that what rivera has been building here?

That was the weakest unit that he inherited here.

The offense played well when the qb played well, aa it generally goes in the NFL.

I'm not saying we don't need more talent, but to say that Cam doesn't have talent around him is a lie.

It's called the draft genius.

Hurney couldn't draft a good receiver to save his life.

The Colts drafted T.Y. Hilton, and Coby Fleener the same year as Andrew Luck, and both are producing well for their team. It only matters if your GM has a clue on how to draft talent at the position.

That's why he isn't here anymore.

the Panthers drafted receivers. But cause they didnt pan out, the panthers never put offensive talent on roster.

Lol

why would you pack it in? You look at all your options sticking your fingers in your ears or your head in the sand doesn't change that.

You pay cam what you think he will become in the duration of the contract. He has been in an upward trajectory with a few bumps in the road which is completely normal. You start talking trades with people we start all over again. This is what teams do. If you believe cam can carry this team, which I believe he can and has shown, you pay him accordingly.

You use the draft to add talent around him, which is what we would be doing anyway because our cap has sucked to begin with. You don't morgage your future with a couple first rounds you have no idea will pan out. Essentially starting all over again. We have a young defense, pay cam, draft around him. Cut our cap down as much as possible, hit on your picks and we will be just fine. Cam has the ability and drive to be the GOAT. You don't let someone like that walk or trade for unknowns. It is just plain stupid

And comparing flacco to cam is ridiculous. Cam has done more with less than any qb outside Tom Brady. And no that is not an exaggeration

Compare olines/ Wrs between the panthers and Baltimore than tell me how you don't pay cam when he made 4 4th quarter drives to win the game putting the team on his back with a bunch of 1 year deal players and a shitty oline?

And ring ring ring we still have a young defense and in 2 years we won't have monster contracts in unimportant areas on the team.

That's one option. But GOAT talk is way  premature.

I wish I would have thought to say this three hours ago. I honestly think this statement is argue proof.

not argue proof at all. When you say never that pretty much dismisses the argument right there.when you narrow it down to Cam well that is saying he will be the only chance the Panthers ever have which is even more ridiculous.

he is the best chance we have because he is known. and he has shown greatness.

but you would rather go with unknown?

    • After seeing hits in the last two UDFA pools, I do not in this group sorta of a let down after I gassed myself up.  Not like I know of their games, but just expected more. The duke DT only has to beat out hunte (2025 UDFA) or Ray (DL coach's kid) or even Cam Jackson mid 2025 5th.  I thought they would bring in more edges, IOL, TEs, etc...
    • My 2 favorite picks, since you didn't ask? 3. Brazzell II.  A 1000 yard WR with 4.37 speed and checks all the boxes for a Z Wide Receiver.  IN THE THIRD ROUND!!! 5.  Sam Hecht.  I think he will take over as the starter at some point this season and never look back.  IN THE FIFTH ROUND. Runner Up:  2. Hunter:  We were targeting a DT early in this draft because we did very little to replace Robinson in free agency.  Hunter was our guy and he will start. In addition to that, you got a starting tackle that should man one side of the new OL we will build for Bryce's second contract. A starting WR, offensive lineman, defensive lineman and possible Offensive tackle (at some point during this year from this draft will start.  UNREAL. In addition, I don't doubt that Wheatley (5th round) takes the FS job by next year and Lee III is Jackson's replacement in 2027.   Finally, even Kuwatch should be a special teams demon and LB depth.   Last year's draft was so good it was ugly.  This one will turn out to be uglier.  No offense Basbear--this ain't about you.
