Guess who got 16 reps on the bench press today

top dawg

I'm not sure why everyone is harping on the bench press comment so much. The OP mentions quite a few things that he performed very well at. Are hairs being split just because of the title? Cooks has been spectacular in most every aspect.

I think with all the positives he could really work hard and get taller too!

How dare you bring up his height. That doesn't matter to the professionals, what do you think you are doing!

being facetious.you are correct his height does not matter.when a QB throws high it is relative to his receiver so it doesn't matter how tall he is. it matters how well the receiver can go get the ball.

Red, many people agree that you are a troll, make nonsensical arguments, and misconstrue their words in order to go off on tangents and derail threads also. Moreover, since you seem to have a continued confusion about the problem that many people have with you, let me use this thread as an example:

You are the one that said people should stop trying to find the next Steve Smith because they like what Brandin Cooks brings to the table. No one else said that but you. Steve Smith had nothing to do with the discussion. You are also the one that called people Marty Hurney for liking what Brandin Cooks brings to the table.  You said that.  It's nonsense.  Hurney is irrelevant and has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion of Brandin Cooks. People looking for the next Steve Smith or trying to be Marty Hurney isn't based on anything germane to Brandin Cooks' viability to be a successful pro receiver, or our 28th pick.  Few, if any, agree with that notion.

Now, where people do agree with you is that the Panthers need to draft bigger receivers to try and mitigate Cam's problems with throwing the ball high. Where Steve Smith may come into play as the fact that he is short and Brandin Cooks is short, and that maybe people just don't want two short receivers on the team (or any short receivers on the team after Smitty retires). If you has presented your argument from that perspective, then it would have made sense. Indeed, I have mixed feelings about the matter, as I have alluded to being enamored with size at not only the WR position, but the CB position as well (and I have threads/posts that have said as much).  Where "many people may seem to disagree" with me is that we need to give Brandin Cooks more serious attention, notwithstanding his short stature. I understand that opinion though I disagree with that opinion specifically as it pertains to Brandin Cooks. I even respect the way that some have expressed that opinion. What I don't respect is gratuitous nonsense. I also don't respect putting words in peoples' mouths or attributing stupidity, outlandish notions, or outright lies to my fellow huddlers' rational and respectful opinions that they put forth.

In my opinion, you need to stick closer to the issues in your discussion, and stop acting like your opinions based upon the issues (when you decide to stick to them) are any more or less legitimate than anyone else's who has equally (or more) compelling arguments.

    • Nope, that’s not the disconnect. In 2022, our GM knew he was going QB in the 2023 draft. You are talking about risking fans involvement on a team that’s been basically bottom 3 in the NFL from 2018 to now. There is no risk when you are that bad. We were right to want Fitterer to tank in 2022 and get rid of anyone who could bring us big value and extra cap room for future years when we aren’t winning 2-7 wins a year. We knew we wanted a rookie QB so we didn’t trade assets for picks and get a better draft slot so we ended up only getting a 2nd for Burns and threw in DJ Moore plus an early 2nd instead of a 1st, which basically lost us an early 2nd. The “risk” to our franchise’s losing culture ended up being around 4 1sts of total value. Yep, I refuse to listen to the other perspective that lost us around 4 1sts of value. At least our fan involvement is so high that our stadium isn’t chock full of visiting fans since we’ve won so much since 2022. Again, you won’t change my mind that we should have tanked in 2022 and had another 2-4 Browns/Horns on this team.
    • 2006 rematch if Canes and Oilers advance
    • It was the Colts that pulled theirs. Colts did Minecraft video without getting Microsoft’s permission (Chargers did get their permission). The questionable content was having the coast guard stop tyreek hill.
