Kraken on Jim Rome today (March 11th)

His radio show?  Maybe you are thinking of his television show on CBSsports.

Perhaps. I can't find anything definitive about the numbers.  I do know that Cowherd beats him in many markets. To be honest I used to listen to Rome all the time, but I got tired of his shtick and refused to pay for his podcasts.  I actually prefer Cowherd now (which I never thought would happen).

I get people might not like Rome's brand, but I appreciate he at least keeps it real.

Cowherd is just as guilty of the sensationalized BS that his espn colleagues push.

Rome never subscribes to the nonsense the other 90% of sports radio puts out there.

Yeah, I can see that. I think that Cowherd basically discusses (and maybe "sensationalizes" sometimes) whatever the audience wants him to discuss. He's pretty much up front about it. He does relate many issues in sports to other aspects of life as well, and sometimes his personal life. I just began to appreciate his no-nonsense, more conservative or classic style, perhaps because I'm in my mid 40s (idk).  I haven't heard Rome in ages though. I listened to literally hundreds and hundreds of hours of Rome's show. I probably haven't heard him in earnest in five years, but the time that I listened to his show probably dwarfs the time I've listened to Cowherd to this day.  When local radio stopped airing Rome's last hour, and I got another job I just lost interest in his caller-driven brand.  I tried Rome is Burning for a while, but it just didn't hold my interest and began to seem kind of flaky like his radio show. Plus, like I alluded to, I don't have to pay for a Cowherd clip of I miss something.  Cowherd keeps it real also, in his own way.

I feel you though.
