Panthers working out WR Norwood

81 catches for 1275 yards and 12 TDs... not last season, in his entire 4 year collegiate career.

If that had been last season, he would've ranked:

24th in catches

tied for 16th in yardage

tied for 18th in TDs

That's right, not a single top 10 category if you took four years of his production and applied them to just last season. He never had a 600 yard season - in college.

He's simply not very good. No way I'd support spending a draft pick on this guy.

Your talking like we're spending a first on him, you expecting to find 1000 yard receivers in the mid-late rounds?

I thought that Norwood was one of the better receivers at the Senior Bowl. I didn't watch a lot of Alabama games so I couldn't tell you how good he is. If had to guess, he would be a decent replacement for LaFell.

Not even comparable.  LaFell was a much better prospect coming out of LSU.  LaFell put up better stats in the NFL than Norwood has in college.

You can absolutely find guys who have produced in the mid-late rounds.  This guy never did poo in college and he had 4 years to do it.  Very rarely do you find guys who see their stats improve when moving from college to pro.  Hell, I'd rather just rely on McNutt and King over Norwood.

Undrafted free agent, fine.  I'd be pissed if we even spent a 7th on the guy.

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
    • I've got nothing else to say really than: Ayup. Here we are again. Again.  All we can really hope for is progress. If we improve as much again, it'll be good. If we don't, it'll be foretold.
