I don't like to get pissy about the beat writers. I know our front office is very tight-lipped.

But the question I always wind up asking is why guys like Adam Caplan, Aaron Wilson, Ian Rapoport and others can get this kind of information and the local guys don't?

Other guys are committed to their craft and know that if they don't produce the are fired. Joe Person has no such threat to his security.

Our team coverage is embarrassing. Gettleman has probably had at least a dozen players in for visits by now but we continue to think he's just sitting on his ass. 

I'd actually prefer to think he's sitting on his ass than he's failing to lock players in.
