Things Gettleman has said in the past and what we can learn from them...

The constant bellyaching about Hardy makes me feel like I have to feel guilty about having the best RE in the league because we can't develop WRs or draft good DBs. next to Cam, Hardy is the most dominant, entertaining and dynamic players to watch on this team, in my opinion. He tosses opposing and like rag dolls and brings it on every play. He's a rare talent and his character sets our team apart from all the rest. He's one of those guys that gives a unit it's identity and is goofy enough that he doesn't come off as a jerk or a hated player (except for those Imani fans that wish he wasn't here.) Our D plays like a team unit but each player gets to have his own unique identity. They remind me of a younger '86 Bears Team and losing Hardy would take a big chunk out of this team's identity.

It would be a huge mistake to lose Hardy or pretend that some other guy could just come in here and be as dominant as he is. I'm not taking anything away from any of the other guys, but if Hardy can improve on what he's done so far and continues on his career trajectory, he's gonna win DPOY before he's done and I want him to do it as a Panther.

I hope you realize that we played arguably the toughest schedule of any team last year. Huge tying whooped in the home playoff game was exactly what this team needed to show them what kind of intensity and focus they are going to need to become champions and it's gonna take our entire core to get there. Getting rid of Hardy would cost this team a major part of its identity and that's something you shouldn't risk, no matter what...and especially not when his best years are ahead of him. As you have seen, there aren't talented enough free agents that could compensate for his production and who knows what you are gonna get out of a rookie. And you are all freaking out about someone not blocking for Cam or because we didn't make a splash in FA when there are no big splash players and the ones we lost are quickly being replaced. I guarantee you someone is gonna step up and play his butt off to block for Cam if they have balmy self worth or skill whatsoever and they deserve our support and encouragement. It's like you don't want some of these players to succeed just so you can laugh and sneer and say you told us so.

It's borderline blasphemous saying we should trade Hardy.!thats like the Bears getting rid of the "fridge," or the Giants getting rid of Strahan. You just don't do it.

I consider myself a hardcore fan. There are plenty of folks on this board that are hardcore fans. That are upset with how things are going this off-season. But they are handling it in a mature manner. Questioning, speculating, and worry in general is how they respond. Not with the behavior too many have shown.

I have no problem with folks getting their ire up. It comes with being a fan. What I do find humorous/childish is when the name calling, and hissy fits come into play. Calling people out for not getting pissed, the Gettledouche comments, the sky is falling, and my favorite calling for heads to roll. All are from emotional overreaction.

Call it what you will. But to me, when you go overboard, it is childish.

Cool, we have common ground. I'm upset at the way things are going but I'm willing to wait and see before I proclaim the next season a disaster.

I'm not too big on the constant name calling, either.

I suppose I disagree with anyone who thinks they know what will happen next season. I know I don't like the look of things so far but I'll be very pleased if I'm wrong.

Cam, apparently the franchise QB that Gettledouche wants to build around, and now coming off of surgery, will have nobody to block for him and nobody to throw to. Let Cam get hurt and let the Gettledouche excuse express run wild.

Point of reference too, if Gettledouche is so damned concerned on doing it his way with his people, why the hell did he extend the coach who should have been canned after week five, after only one year of catching lightning in a bottle?

Wtf? What is wrong with you talking about Cam getting hurt so that you can prove yourself right? That's what this is. You can't stomach the fact that our line is probably a lot better than you are willing to give them credit for and you can't believe that you might be wrong. How do you think our linemen would feel about this damning? They have pride and this is their job. If they let someone get hurt, it's on them, not on you, me or even Gettleman for that matter. If these guys can't do their jobs they should be unemployed instead of playing football for a living. They deserve a chance to do what they were hired to do without some freaks wishing harm in them. Yeah, they may not all be all-pros, but they have earned their spot on this team and most if these guys have worked their butts off for the better part of their lives to get this opportunity to play, not to sit on the bench and get ridiculed by a bunch if idiots who want it their way but have nothing invested besides some money and pride. It's ridiculous.

Not wishing ill on Cam to prove a point.  Losing 3 OL, not to mention the longest tenured one, for any team is a blow, and when the GM is playing Mr. Badass, the franchise QB will be put at risk.

Do you actually want Byron Bell protecting Cam's blind side?

Hey, I get that is looks less than rosy right now. I too am concerned that we have holes and no money. The WR corp. scares me as well. But I also see a bright future. So I am just going to let this all play out. I will get upset when there is good reason. And right now, I don't see a good reason.

We as a franchise, have had many opportunities to be let down. So, when things start looking good, like last year, we get excited. Then this off-season rolls around. And things look like they are falling apart. So it is natural for fans to worry.

But I don't see any reason for the overreactions. Those are, IMO, unnecessary. But hellz, it takes all kinds.

I have no problem with Bell playing LT. He said he wants to and the coaching staff said it's more of his natural position. He only gave up a few more sacks than did Gross and he was basically in his first full time season. There were only 18 better tackles, pass rush wise, than was Bell. That includes all tackles, not just left or right. Hat means that there were 46 tackles who allowed players to get to their QB at a higher rate.

It's like mass hysteria around here and everyone is focusing on the negatives. A couple people take his performance against Mario Williams and for some reason they think he played that way all seasonnlong and that is a farce, to say the least. Bell gave up 8 of his 9 sacks over a 3-game spread. That means in the other 13 games he only gave up 1 sack. I get tired of spouting the stats and the 12-4 record speaks for itself. This offensive unit is going to improve because these guys are really young and for the most part just getting started with their careers.

It's not easy to come off such a great season and to hear everyone bash the players who played a huge role in getting them to their record. Not only that, but our line was decimated last season and few actually recognize that fact. Sure, there were hiccups along the way and Cam had to scramble a lot but he had to scramble less and less as the season went along.

Yeah, I'd love to Upgrade every position and have a pro bowler at every position but we have to go with the best of the best players and add pieces however we can...and we are. There's a deep draft coming up and we could at least enjoy the season we had, welcome the new players we get and watch the draft with optimism. I can't keep defending our players and shouldn't have to because they played really well this past year and we got to actually keep our youngest and most talented players. And I wanna keep it that way. That means Hardy, CJ, BBell and everyone else that does their job and works to make this team better.
