Kenny Britt visiting Carolina

I know it's been rumored that Carolina is interested, but I was just listening to the NFL channel on Sirius and his agent verified he's visiting.

He mentioned that he's been to Washington, New England, and one other place (can't remember) so far. He then mentioned that he's scheduled to meet with Carolina and Buffalo.

I think this would be a great sign at the right price. He may be a head case but I think its worth the risk. My only fear is if we sign Britt, we won't go receiver in the 1st rd. when clearly that should be our first priority if there is a good one left on the board. We need help on the O-line but Britt or Cotchery are not the answer for the #1 receiver spot.

Britt and cotchery at WR and Cason and Thomas at CB and that'll be a pretty good FA

I'd love to have all 4, but depends on the price. Our only major hole then would be OT and we would still draft a WR in the first 2 rounds. We'd be very well off.

I like Britt, if he can stay healthy he'll be a great sign for really cheap.. I think if he finally plays for a winning organization that has superbowl potential that he will get his act straight.... Then draft a left tackle first round and receiver second and we'll be good.

    • DJ Johnson just ticked too many boxes on the warning list. Unpolished/raw at his position, older guy, etc.  Project players don't belong in the top 3 rounds, IMO. Not on teams completely bereft of talent. The Ravens, 49ers, etc of the world can get away with that. It's hard to justify that in the condition our roster usuallu is.
    • Trust me, I wasn't either. Just seemed like another TMJ, Mingo, etc. Well.....turns out it was.
    • Upper tier backups have good options available.  Also, hitching your bandwagon to a career backup isn't likely to pan out.  Mills is a possibility, but that would have to be a trade. He is under contract through 2026. Same with Lock, under contract through 2026.
