you know why. our offense is anemic at best. when your gameplan is to limit your own qbs involvement in the gameplan, you are screwed. Attacking the middle of the field requires being able to see over the line. Bryces inability to attack that level of the defense makes it hard to comeback or score quickly. Look at what tyler did to us at the end of the game. Does anyone here think that bryce could make those throws consistently? i dont. he doesnt have the arm strength or vision. he can throw moonballs to the outside and float them to the intermediate area.

Yeah it wasn’t an optimistic atmosphere during those long NO marches. Luke is really good at analysis. Lightning fast with it.

If you can only fire ONE person before 2026....

Yeah but that isn't a realistic scenario to even hope for, unfortunately. -
I honestly hate it. It puts the defender in a terrible spot, especially that Shough slide yesterday. Like Ransom was saying, they were at the very fringe of FG range where every yard matters and he's trying to stop the runner for as little yardage as possible. Completely understandable and I can't really blame him for the play. Just a shitty no win situation for him and Shough sold the call with his hilarious overacting. It is what it is. I'd like to see the protection rule changed to some type of halo rule like on punt catches. Yeah, it adds another level of potential controversy to officiating but this bullshit of running as far as you possibly can and then sliding as a defender has already committed to the tackle is just that, it's bullshit. If you're protecting yourself, protect yourself. If you're trying to get every yard you can then get hit. fug having the best of both.

David Tepper is my choice. It all starts and ends with that asshole. But since you won't let me use him I will choose Canales. He sucks almost as bad as Evero but Evero is out the door when the season is over. -
This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

https://x.com/josephperson/status/2000629821802750196 We've been had. And it's clear Dave doesn't trust him -
I don't "blame" Bryce for that play. Icky got whooped. It is what it is. But Bryce has a bad habit of always backpedaling under pressure and rarely ever stepping up in the pocket and that dates back to college. Had he stepped up there were options. That's all. The real problem is that we basically all knew we were cooked after that play. 2nd and 19 with Bryce at QB is basically the end of the drive. We all kinda understand that. Sure, there been this or that rare occurrence where we've overcome it but by and large that's almost always a drive killer for us. That's just Bryce at QB. Your offense is handcuffed and the margin for error is practically nonexistent. He was sacked on time all game and that basically meant game over.
-
Yeah and somehow when this exact same thing happens to a bigger ticket QB the shoe is on the other foot for the talking heads? I am not buying it. It's all reality TV level horseshit. The rule and they way they call it has been pretty clear for years now. If was a stupid play, without question. And at a critical time. But, it should never have been to that point anyway. In the final 24:54 of gametime following our 3rd quarter TD we accomplished 44 yards of offense in 4 drives. 44. That's the fuging problem, not any individual play.

Right there, we are beat. They have put one season into a second round investment and gotten returns that the three years spent on our folly cannot match. We have to get off of this Bryce treadmill of mediocrity before we can hope to keep up.
-
It needs to happen and should have happened as soon as they got back to BOA. But you are probably right as no coach worth his salary is touching this job. We are the new Cleveland Browns of this decade and probably the next decade as well.

RevJ started following Radio Broadcast vs Saints
-
I almost always watch the games, even if I record and watch later. Was caught out of town, driving home and listened to the radio broadcast last night. Forgive me if these themes have already been mentioned, but here are the themes I heard. FYI - it seemed to me that even while we still had the lead, the guys in the booth felt like we were squandering the game. 1. On the last play before the QB run, flop and penalty; during the timeout the crew noted we were going with mostly DB, only a couple of linemen. Then they said -oh, oh - we showed that too early and the Saints had a chance to see and change their play - obvious coaching error. 2. Luke (I believe) kept noting how the D wasn't ready, didn't have hands in the dirt, etc. - coaching and players. Especially on the drive where they moved almost without resistance. He sounded like he was ready to go tackle someone since the Defense was being so obliging. 3. Sounded a lot like Jaycee was transformed from shutdown corner into the guy they targeted specifically - it does seem like he's making plenty of highlights for the wrong reason. 4. Noted that Icky was just manhandled and tossed into Bryce - not speed rush, sweet move, just bullied like a child. Sounds like the kind of guy we need to open the bank for - he has a habit of folding at the worst times. 5. Noted the holding call on Moton was bogus - unless ref shared wrong #. 6. The Anish guy - good voice and pretty good play by play. However, every once in a while, he has to make some obscure reference or use a word he thinks people don't know because he seems more interested in sounding smart than delivering the game to a fan. Not as bad as Mixon but enough to make him seem like a nerdy guy who gets to do football instead of a fan and expert that wants to help listeners to be able to "see" the game. Just annoying and unnecessary.

No there's not. The coach is barely an OC and he struggles with that.
-
That's not terribly shocking. I know what a lot of people liked about him here was that he took responsibility for things. It was a very pleasant change from Matt Rhule's deflection and finger pointing.
-
cranky started following Defensive penalties cost the game.
-
The Panthers' defensive penalties accounted for 78 yards and 6 1st downs of the Saints total offense Sunday. For comparisons, the Saints rushed for 81 yards picking up 6 1st downs. So the defensive penalities contributed to the Saints offense as much as their own rushing game. You can't win games like that.
-
He is, or was, an excellent DB position coach. Was for us. They gave him scraps for his room, because they knew he would get something out of them. And he did. I was never impressed with his DC’ing. People don’t appreciate how different some of these jobs are, he just doesn’t seem to click as a DC. Did better as HC.
-
Yeah, and Ikey is prone to mistakes but I am not gonna crush him as a pivotal reason why we lost that game. Especially in the midst of a very good season for him overall. I think the blame goes almost entirely to Canales and the coaching staff and the bulk of the remnant once again falling on Bryce. Other players like Ikey, Ransom, etc certainly had their fair share of critical individual mistakes but I think the top line issues are the overwhelmingly biggest.
-
There is, and people outside the fanbase are talking about it. But with that said, the controversy is long running and not limited to us.

I lead HC because in theory it can impact so many of the other problems directly. As someone stated, that point could even easier be made for GM in terms of getting a good HC which will impact everything below that to an even greater extent. Just getting rid of Bryce doesn't fix DC's poor coaching, poor preparation and poor play calling. It doesn't fix Evero's defensive schematic flaws, etc.
