I had this discussion with my buddy yesterday afternoon. If we start this season very slow(especially with the schedule being what it is) and then "rally" in the second half to get to 4-7 wins, I am already gonna be pretty heated at the staff overall. I know we are a very bad roster but I am not gonna keep excusing these slow season starts WITH late season rallies. That's a coaching staff problem, IMO. It's more excusable to just stink gate to gate, IMO. At least you can understand why.
-
Yep, pretty much.
-
No. I think he lost the coaching staff with that taking himself out stunt and always being injured. Not to mention, he just doesn't improve at all. Not an ounce. Sad state of affairs to basically easily lose a starting battle to Daniel Jones.
-
Exactly. This preseason gives me concerns simply because we've been so trash for so long and year after year we try to convince ourselves that preseason doesn't matter and we're going to magically look better as soon as the regular season gets here. It hasn't worked out for us like that. I sure hope it does this year but I'm done having any positive expectations out of this organization. I'm going into the season hoping for the best but fully expecting trash. That way there's no disappointment. If we're trash it's like "yep, business as usual again". If we actually do magically flip the switch this year it's like "fuging SWEET, this is awesome!"

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection

Looks legit, gotta think if a LB or safety they like gets cut we would make a move. -
Preseason Week 3 - vs. Pittsburgh (practice tweets, discussion, etc)
Icege replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yea, if the first the team looks like hot ass the first two weeks again it's not going to be a happy time. It'll be especially frustrating if the team starts slow but finishes strong but at the same time that's probably what will happen with the new defense + young weapons getting acclimated... I expect that to take until halfway through the season, and I don't believe that extra preseason snaps would help that much to speeding up the timeline. Even if it meant they gelled a game or two sooner, there's the added risk of injury on a team that's still trying to build depth after years of bad decisions. Now if they start slow and have the same approach in 2026 with a more complete team I'm going to have some not so nice questions (and opinions) for/about the staff. -
Everything about AR's demeanor in the NFL screams that they should've identified serious mental make up red flags during the pre-draft process. I mean, if you're going to roll the dice on a project type player you have to at least be convinced that the guy is coachable and he's going to commit himself to improving his craft. There just haven't been any signs of that from AR.

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection

I would be very surprised to see Moore bumped if we keep 7 WR's. Tremayne is easily stashed on the PS with no threat of anyone signing him off it. -
Keep in mind. Steichen was supposed to be one of those QB whisperer types too. It's gonna taken some luster off of him on the way unemployment after the season.
-
I'm not sure that in a fair QB competition that Young would beat out Jones.

That's why I said stats aside. I lived in CO during Allen's college career and didn't have kids at the time so I watched most of his games. Bruh, I'm telling you. Balls just spraying all over the place. The type of throws where you're honestly trying to figure out who he was even trying to throw that one too. It was crazy. Richardson was inaccurate in college but at least you could tell who he was trying to throw it too. He threw a lot of early in the game Cam Newton type balls where it seemed like he was just a little too amped up and everything was a few feet high. Richardson's misses looked like they were maybe fixable with working on his footwork, release, etc. Josh Allen's misses looked like "ain't no way you're fixin' that poo, dude has a cannon equipped with no sights". LOL Huge props to the Bills for evaluating him as fixable and indeed fixing him.

A lot can change over the next week, but here is my best 53-man roster (note: I'm just basing this on guys on the 90 man roster currently). Obviously there could be trades/ waiver claims/ FA signings. Offense (25) QB (2): Bryce Young, Andy Dalton RB (3): Chuba Hubbard, Rico Dowdle, Trevor Etienne TE (4): Tommy Tremble, JT Sanders, Mitchell Evans, James Mitchell WR (7): Tetoria McMillan, Xavier Legette, Adam Theilen, Jalen Coker, Hunter Renfrow, Jimmy Horn, Brycen Tremayne OL (9): Ikem Ekwonu, Damien Lewis, Austin Corbett, Robert Hunt, Taylor Moton, Cade Mays, Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Yosh Nijman Defense (25) DL (6): Derrick Brown, Bobby Brown, Ashawn Robinson, Tershawn Wharton, Sam Roberts, Cam Jackson OLB (5): DJ Wonnum, Pat Jones, Nic Scourton, Princely Umanmielen, Thomas Incoom ILB (5): Trevin Wallace, Christian Rozeboom, Krys Barnes, Jon Rattigen, Claudin Cherelus S (4): Trevon Moehrig, Demani Richardson, Lathan Ransom, Nick Scott CB (5): Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson, Chau Smith-Wade, Corey Thornton, Shemar Bartholomew ST (3): LS: JJ Jansen P: Sam Martin K: Matthew Wright Would like to hear everyone's thoughts

He was a more accurate passer at 56.2%. That's what I mean. Even by outlier standards, this dude was inaccurate. Closest I can recall to something like that would have been one of those GT QB's like Reggie Ball. Career 48.6% passer.
-
Stats aside, I know it's hard to believe, but just pure eye ball test Anthony Richardson at Florida looked like Drew Brees compared to Josh Allen at Wyoming. Like I said, it's honestly impossible to talk about Allen's inaccuracy at Wyoming without sounding like you're talking in massive hyperbole. Bruh couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. LOL
-
If we're still flailing and need a QB when Arch Manning comes out in the draft, well... Because Tepper is all about hype trains and to get a hype train with the last name "Manning"? Bruh is gonna be like, "I want that guy and I'm willing to trade... The absolute cherry on top of that dog poo sundae would us be swinging the trade and then the Mannings to be like "Yeah, remember Eli to the Chargers? Same thing." LOL
-
No, he had nothing close to that profile even remotely. He was one of the most inaccurate passers I have ever seen as a "top prospect." That literally directly translated. Hurts was a 65+% career passer. Jackson was closer at 57% versus the 54.7% but the difference to the eye was REALLY obvious in the passing game. You can check the record, I wanted absolutely nothing to do with drafting AR. Richardson currently has worse stats than Jamarcus Russell through the equivalent amount of games. Think about that.

The Panthers have an effort problem
LinvilleGorge replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
You said you were talking about how fans and media perceive the preseason so that's what I was talking about but now you're saying that you're talking about how it's viewed from within the organization? I mean, okay. But you could've just started there and then there would've been no misinterpretation. -

Again, I am not talking about the coaching strategy for preseason. I am talking about the way media and fans portray or view preseason results. You quoted my post bruv and you have now twice misinterpreted what I meant. I get it, you are disappointed after last week's showing. But know this, Dave Canales and Dan Morgan are not concerned with your glimmer of hope. Also, I heard and viewed them looking really good in the joint practice. I am disappointed that it didn't translate to Saturday, but I will never truly freak out about this team until they look bad into week 3 or 4 of the regular season. -
you know who has had a pretty awesome preseason has been ex panthers qb kyle allen, would be total panthers for the lions to end up having to play him due to injury and him lighting it up for them all year.

I like Ekbugka probably will be eventually, dont know about this year with the Bucs new Offensive Cordinator Grizzard lol (he was a year behind me in high school) needless to say I seriously question them calling him an offensive wizard lol.

I'm fine with "not showing our hand" in preseason as long as we don't come out looking flat week one. If that happens again then Canales needs to be on the hottest of seats.
