David and Derek Carr on the Panthers video
kungfoodude replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh, Carr was insanely talented. He just got his brains beat in until he lost his confidence and started "seeing ghosts." When he came here he would bail from clean pockets constantly as his broken internal clock would start alarming after about 1.5-2 seconds. -
Nah...you ain't right, dude You ain't wrong, either

Carr with those BS gloves every game was sickening to watch . Absolutely shell shocked before he even took the field for us. -
It's pretty much always been soccer players at kicker. They usually just find them in HS.

Great player that did good things for us. But sadly, it looks like time has slowed him down. It’s time to go with youth in Koochie and Bussi, OR trade for a stud in his prime like Saros. Can’t let goalie play be the reason you lose games and get knocked out of the playoffs again.

There was a an NFL Network episode before the draft one year and they invited Mahomes on before the draft and I’m pretty sure David Carr who had been out of the league a while by then out threw Mahomes pre-draft. I don’t remember if it was accuracy or if it was like an arm strength test but I remember being like Damn, this kids arm is horrible.. -

Yes David Carr won us the game in New Orleans and looked completely horrible every start afterwards. I remember going to the Tampa game that year, we were wearing blue- it was horrible. -

I mean, even the lack of self awareness to post that is.....telling. -
It doesn't say a lot for all these kicking camps when it's now a bunch of Aussie rules punters and failed soccer players at kicker.

Dream scenario for ending out the season
ProcessBlue2 replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m traveling home today and had some time. I added a lot of data into ChatGPT including: average EPA (offense and defense), statistical averages, efficiency %s, strength of schedule, strength of victories, remaining schedule, etc. To summarize: On average teams following a bye week have a 5-10% increase for EPA per play. Teams with a post- Week 12 bye have a 10-15% increase of EPA per play on average. Teams with a late season bye week on average have a 15% greater chance of victory against opponents than they would have prior to their bye week. I asked to simulate the remaining games and this was the results: Carolina 10-7 Bye @ New Orleans (W 27-14) Vs Tampa Bay (W 23-20) Vs Seattle (L 31-17) @ Tampa Bay (W 17-14) Tampa 9-8 Vs New Orleans (W 27-17) Vs Atlanta (L 27-21) @ Carolina (L 23-20) @ Miami (W 21-14) Vs Carolina (L 17-14) It references Carolina’s higher EPA per play following his the bye week, Tampa’s 3 consecutive divisional games, and apparent linear regression of EPA per play since season start as the reasons. -

WTF are you babbling about? -
Brandon Aubrey is a complete cheat code at kicker. It's crazy that he was a college soccer player who hadn't kicked footballs at all until he was watching football after he washed out as a professional soccer player and was like "Hell, I can do this better than these guys!" and damn if he wasn't right.

They’re tearing down that roster, so they’ll have a lot of positions that’ll need help
-
They should have a reverse award for this for the player that firmly loses their team the game with their trash play called the FedEx “lost your package in a pile of dookie” award or something
-
If the Panthers sweep Tampa and make the playoffs, and at least one of those Tampa games Bryce is the reason the team wins, he’s earned his spot. I think we all know in the back of our minds he’s going to barf all over himself in at least one of the Tampa games, probably the first one removing all chances of making the playoffs, and then he throttles them in a meaningless last game.
-
You aren’t lying about the playoff game at home. But I also can’t fault the refs for the panthers getting stuffed on TWO goal line opportunities.

He hasn't earned it, but I think a Bryce deal would look similar to the one Baker signed last (3 years, $100 million). I'm sure his agent would balk at that, and some team may trick themselves into more...but that's the top end IMO. As for the OL, the draft is about to be REAL important for the big boys. Our backups have injury issues, and we're a year away from some decisions coming up on Lewis/Hunt/Moton as to whether to cut and save money or restructure. Wouldn't be mad seeing us draft a Center, OT, and OG in the first few rounds over the next 2 drafts.

You can't have $50M QB play in a couple games a year to earn the a 50M/year long term deal. Like the guy said in the video, not to long ago all we wanted Bryce to do was hand the ball off to Rico. Bryce is on a VERY recent hot steak and all of a sudden now we want to give him a Josh Allen contract? Y'all have got to be high.

Dream scenario for ending out the season
ProcessBlue2 replied to cranky's topic in Carolina Panthers
I forgot Tampa plays next Thursday. Puts them playing 3 divisional games in 14 days. With us coming off a late season bye. -
Yep. I've been keeping up with this, and it just SUCKS. Money keeps getting dumped into AI for the sake of not losing to the other guy so resources get vacuumed up into datacenters so people can make AI videos to impress their friends. I really want the AI bubble to pop. I appreciate things like training a chatbot for a specific purpose, or using machine learning to find things our eyes miss in medical scans. But how much of the billions spent on AI will lead to something remotely useful or profitable? I love my crucial SSDs and RAM. They have been rock stars in my systems.
