  2. Evero runs his scheme. Personel or opponents be damned. I'm so tired of it, it works when you have a great pass rush but if his dumbass hasn't figured out our guys can't rush the passer then he probably can't figure out how to tie his shoes
  3. Yea, I think for sure if Cam wins it in 2015, they would’ve found a way to get him in the hall. Guess the same could be said for Ryan. Sucks, because that 2017 year, I believe if they could’ve just got by the saints in the playoffs, we would’ve gone to the Super Bowl again. Cam carried that squad on his back like no other. If only one of Kaylin or Funchess catches their gimme TDs
  4. I think had either Ryan or Cam gotten their ring, it might be a different discussion. That looks large on their legacies.
  5. He apparently was hurt and tried to play through it a person could argue he helped or hurt the team by doing that…there are coaches and medical personnel that could’ve,,should’ve helped with the decision
  6. Yep, he shone brightly and was gone quickly, like a shooting star. We also have to remember that statistical arguments aren't likely to be as big of a factor as human elements. If you read the accounts of the HOF committee discussions, I think it's much less statistically oriented and far more opinions of ex-players and coaches. Ryan was a very, very good QB throughout his NFL career but I never considered him elite. He was always that grouping behind the truly "elite" players. Absolutely stellar career but not HOF caliber.
  7. Yes and some of the free agents he bought in, questionable it is just not working with Evero. Having one or two defensive impressive games a year, isn’t enough and to be frank, most of those times it was those teams beating themselves they need young, incentive and aggressive in their DC , not passive most of the times and aggressive at inopportune times
  8. It is possible to not blame him directly for the loss on Sunday, there were obviously some other big issues, and at the same time evaluate him as not cutting it overall. Ask me how I know.
  9. If refs didn't rig SB 50 Cam might have had a shot if his career pretty much stayed the same. But since he was derailed by injury, I don't see it happening.
  10. 53 spots is tough to fit a single use player in, especially when you can just sub in an extra OL or TE to perform thise specific FB functions. You have to be an offense that REALLY uses a lead blocker a lot to justify someone like that, even if they play special teams.
  11. Matty Ice won’t get in either. Another great player who was responsible for Atlanta’s best seasons, but just isn’t quite hall worthy.
  12. Take Darnold and DJ Moore and All those draft picks and All that cap and draft capital dumped into the offense… Or Bryce?
  13. Manning and Warner are the only QBs to get in who played post 2000. With Brees, Brady, Ben R. Who won superpower in that same time frame its just not likely IMO
  14. They both seem to me like guys that will get passed over until there are no better options left. Good but not great and no SB victories is what I see. Cam's rushing adds to his case largely but then his personality washes that IMO(not for me personally but it's common outside of Carolina fanbase, so many peole hated Cam and with him working in the media now it sure feels like S Smith all over again).
  15. Cam didn’t last long enough. He won’t make it. Great player. The best QB in franchise history. 2011-2018 was a good time.
  16. I was about to say that we are helping him any by using our top picks to prop up Bryce, but didn't he want DJ Johnson?
  17. I couldn't watch all of it. SO frustrating seeing the same crap over and over.
  18. Once it was tied up 17 all and we punted, I knew what the outcome would be. The betting line was +2.5 vs -2.5 and the Saints ended up winning by three. I started immediately thinking of the hands to the face, the horseshite alignment call on the kickoff return. The three obvious first downs where catches were overturned or the ball was spotted a yard short. That's why I was so mad at Dave for turning down the 50-52yd FG to go up 10. I was texting my friends that we need to get points and get out of here with a win because keeping it close gives the officials a lot of leeway!
  19. It's amazing how much they have improved and yet how bad they still are. I personally never liked this scheme so I would be happy to watch it leave with Evero. I'm fine on thr 3-4, don't think the roster is closer to 4-3 either. Worst case Evero stays next year, best case he goes and does a 3 year meh build out somewhere else.
  20. I recall that breakdown showing how the Bills ran the same exact run play like 9 times for an 11 yard average or something like that and we made zero adjustments.
  21. I'm trying to get the random draw for Australia and whoever us plays match 3 but I think tickets to a lot of games are going to drop dramatically as world cup gets closer. Us games won't but a lot of the random ones will
  22. @cranky Augmenting your offensive analysis Saints figured out panthers D Sad Just sad The panthers need a new DC. Many takeaways but here is the 2 biggest. One nickel routes, the coverage of the nickel back on offensive slot receiver tells offense that the out routes will be wide open. Ie. Get nickel back to sit and the other 2 DBs rarely challenge and are yards away leaving wr wide open The same concept on screen plays Two. continued positional issues in a defense that is run over and over

  24. I think if you look at Cam Newton’s rushing totals, there is an argument he should be in the HOF. I wrote a post many years ago comparing his TD total to those of great RBs of yesteryear’s past. Unfortunately I cannot find that post, and I don’t recall the specifics, but the takeaway was that players above a certain total rushing TD were all in the HOF. And those players were all RBs that I was comparing Cam to. At the time, Cam may not quite have been there yet, but if you projected forward, he was on pace to easily clear the hurdle. I have no idea if he ended up doing that since his career was cut short. That being said, even if he did make it to whatever that threshold was, I think he was too polarizing a player, with too short a peak, for voters to put him in the HOF.
  25. And we had both of the qbs we are worried about facing during that season Should have resigned Darnold even if determined to draft one high
