  2. Did you just say analytics are horse poo and then give me some analytics?
  3. Hell of a play by Jaycee. Very unfortunate we did not adequately reward him for his efforts.

    WR drops

Fox Sports has WRs drops for the same folks….plus a KC drop. Maybe it’s not all updated yet but pro football reference, Fox and those types are way more useful resources than Big Dawg Fantasy Takes that has 10 Panther drops pulled from Imagination Land. the real point is a drop by a WR isn’t justification for your QB being a complete nightmare….who then pads his stats to hide how horrific he was in the final 8 minutes. WRs are imperfect in good days by good QBs.
  5. IMO the problem with Bryce is less to do with any of what you’re saying and more to do with him just not having the mental fortitude and killer mentality needed to succeed. when the bullets are live and poo actually matters, he’s only ever crumbled. would love to be wrong.
  6. He's been blown out by the Jaguars twice now. And the other time they were starting their backup.
  7. What's wild is that when he plays and works out regularly, he drops to 175-180. Which is what he played at during part of his last season at Alabama.
  8. He's got happy feet, he reads the line poorly, he has trouble reading defenses. He has issues staying on schedule as well. His arm is adequate, he's actually fairly good athleticly as far as speed and such is concerned. Let me go find it, from during the 2023 pre draft. I said these same things about him then.
  9. Wild. That's a guy you take a flier on in the mid to late rounds. Not someone you trade up to draft first overall to carry your franchise.
  10. I want to answer this with caution. Last year, in this very Week 1 column, I wrote about how rough Young looked in the season opener and how I did not see an NFL future for him. What sort of offense could work around a quarterback that fearful of pressure, that unwilling to throw over the middle, that lacking premier physical traits? Of course, Young was benched, then came back and had a decent finish to 2024. It wasn't anything revolutionary, but it was better than I thought an offense could be built around Young. My foot was firmly in my mouth. So you shouldn't be completely out for that reason. We have seen it work for Young at times -- the Week 18 game against Atlanta, along with Week 12 against the Chiefs. Dave Canales can do enough with Young that, in theory, a team with a great running game and great defense could get over the hump. But the Panthers do not have a great running game and certainly don't have a great defense. As we saw against the Jaguars, Young still harbors plenty of that erratic, undersized, overwhelmed passer we saw for much of 2023 and 2024. It's a thin needle to thread, building a team around a QB who has to throw with so much anticipation but also mostly outside of the numbers. The passing game becomes one-dimensional and predictable. Last year I said a flat "no" on Young. Hopefully I'm a year wiser now. So it's not a hard "no." But I remain very dubious.
  11. From Dan: Is there any reason I shouldn't be completely out on Bryce Young? I'm hearing lots of excuses from some fans/media, and of course it's not all his fault. But what reasons should I have to believe that he could be a QB that leads a team to the playoffs? Because I'm struggling to find them.
  12. Yes they did and he's on it, my point is that his frame doesn't allow for a lot of weight to be put on in a good way. He's a 185-190lb max guy and that's that.
  13. The best D in the NFL last year gave up 17 points per game. Our O averaged 10 points per game (with good Bryce). If you cant score more than 10...you is gonna lose a lot.
  14. Gosh damn I forgot about this. Wtf are we doing???
  15. God bless you buddy, you are dead balls accurate and everyone on here and the announcers and his head coach and previous head coach all say different but you got this down pat.
  16. Saw the Int. but missed how high he got to get it. Any way was not going to post about misery, seems to follow Panthers for what seems like for ever. Still hoping for brighter days. Go Panthers!!!
  17. They still make all the major personale decisions during the off-season. Especially during the draft and early free agency.
  18. Fine. It's his 3rd season which makes his progress and mental fortitude even more impressive after overcoming one of the worst situations to be in starting your NFL career. If the hard takes on Bryce were not filled with so much hyperbole, assumptions and outright lies it wouldn't annoy me so much. Bryce can't throw downfield. He threw it fine downfield to Legette on that deep shot he dropped last year. He threw it fine downfield to T-Mac sunday who proceeded to drop the pass. Bryce is too small. Boy takes a beating before we invested in the offensive line and so far he'd held up physically with no issues. Bryce is too short. The majority of his throws are over the middle which would be the most difficult routes for a shorter QB to see. He doesn't get balls batted down more than any taller QB's. Bryce is too slow. Last year he ran for 6 TD's and 249 yards. That ability is a real weapon. Most of the takes around here are of the "Omergaud, he suks" variety with little actual insight. If a guy is able to play and win multiple NFL games he has to have some talent and ability and if a person continues to say there is no redeeming qualities and you can't tell me what he is good at as well as what he's bad at, then you're not being honest, realistic or genuine. You're being a fool.
  19. CSW might be the best pick of the group, and I see his ceiling as solid. I’d say Munnerlyn is a good comp, but Munnerlyn actually was very good in his role. The more I see of Sanders, the more he feels like the new Ian Thomas. But can’t make a definitive assessment on that until he plays with a good QB.
  20. What? Are we supposed to take seriously the opinions of some random dude with a degree in Post-structuralist Gender Ecology and Intersectional Hermeneutics of Gertrude Stein and Gloria Steinem?
  21. Director of scouting has been with the team since 2021 Director of pro scouting since 2020 Both have been promoted heavily from lower positions since then. Assistant director is from the Commanders. "Was with them for 15 years" Bunch of lower level area scouts have been with the team for 2+ years at least or since before Morgan was promoted. So the team is basically using the same staff that Scott Fitterer used.
