I mean I don't have a personal axe to grind with any human on the Panthers roster. I know AT shouldn't be dominating the slot. The fact he is....is because we have a horrific front office/management. I can part with any player. The goal is a winning team. the root of the AT ranting, is really just looking out for BY (people like to call me BY hater though). A QB who was basically screwed from day 1 when we got drafted here. I went hard at Carolina then too for setting him up to fail. Because it was obvious from the jump the setup was failure by design. Which was true. I said Frank bad zero sense with BY. Miles Sandes made double zero sense. The players they got in FA made zero sense. Either you build a BY O.....or you move on from BY. I have said I am cool either way. We are in no man's land and have been there since they day we drafted him.

Post- Training Camp 53-Man Roster Projection
LinvilleGorge replied to Seltzer's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's the QB school guy mentality. Thielen is a shitty #1 option so aaarrrrggghhhh FUUUUUUUUUG HIM!!! This dude SUCKS!!! Yeah, Thielen should no longer be a #1 option at this stage in his career. He honestly shouldn't be a starter at this point in his career. But it's not an Adam Thielen issue that we've had to ask him to do that. -
That boy got oweennneeed. Lewis should claim him as his dependent on this year tax return.

I don't get Evero's obsession with lighter, quicker nose tackles. It's hard enough to find a giant that can consistently hold up to double teams. That's already a bit of a unicorn. It's the biggest hurdle to fielding a good 3-4 DL IMO. But now you want to find a lighter, quicker guy who can do it? Yeah, okay... good luck with THAT. Now you're talking about the unicorn of all DL unicorns.

They overpaid him and he still delivered surplus value. -
JJ's cart talk guest is Ron Rivera

I can't stand JJ -
Timestamp of Idzik listing TMac, XL, AT, and Coker as the locks and everybody else fighting for the remaining spots. Saids that they would love 6 - 7 considering the talent that they have. WR Coach Moore mentions JHJ, Canales asks about Renfrow. No mention of Moore nor Tremayne included. That might be more of a behind closed doors type of discussion.
-
I know. He is a DE in our scheme. I don't get it either.
-
I think he's a good player, but I see him as a rotational pass rushing specialist in a 4-3 front. He's just too small to hold up against the run being an every down player and I don't know that he has the juice or the length to move outside to a 3-4 DE. We'll see. I'm definitely curious to see how Evero is going to use him but his track record utilizing tweener types isn't exactly comforting.

to help kill some time till kickoff

Turk was the ultimate panic/overpay move once Milton chose NE Essentially a much more expensive Shy Tuttle I fear
-
$50M+ tiniest DL I still don't know how he fits in this defensive scheme and I'm starting to get borderline panicked that the unofficial depth charts continue to list him as the starting NT because that is just not going to work.
-
Well that is our best OL versus our tiniest DL.

I do find it very funny that the source you are referencing also so clearly shows how much better AT has performed in 2024 than anyone on the roster that isn't Jalen Coker. Look, I get that you have some personal axe to grind with AT but you are genuinely letting it get in the way of your ability to be objective. He has been overwhelmingly our best WR in 2023 and 2024. It's backed up by statistics, metrics, even the simple eye test. That's basically what the great roster building work under David Tepper has done. You have a mid-30's, slow #1 WR. -
BREAKING: Panthers activate Tommy Tremble off PUP
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thought JT really had a chance to take his job but instead it looked like we missed Tremble quite a bit out there. Glad to have him back and sad at the same time somehow lol. -
Wasn't much of a scuffle, just Lewis absolutely mauling Wharton in one on one drills and Wharton not much caring for it. Man, Wharton looks tiny compared to Lewis.

details on the McGary injury. Just found out their backup RT is also out. Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kaleb McGary will miss time due to a leg injury he sustained Wednesday during practice, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. McGary was carted off the field before the 11-on-11 portion of practice Wednesday but was not fitted with an air cast. A team spokesperson said after practice that McGary was receiving an MRI and an update would follow "at an appropriate time." The Falcons are still determining the length of McGary's absence, but "he's out," the source told Fowler. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46038672/source-falcons-kaleb-mcgary-miss-leg-injury McGary's backup would have been Storm Norton, the Falcons' reserve swing tackle. But Norton had surgery Tuesday on his ankle and will be out for six to eight weeks, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/46038672/source-falcons-kaleb-mcgary-miss-leg-injury

ESPN analytics has AT with the 135th YAC rating out of 149 WRs in the NFL last year. Dead last in Carolina. 274 out of 312 the year before. Dead last in Carolina. NFL Receiver Scores - ESPN Analytics it is a AT thing. Despite being bad, AT actually occupies the WR spot where YAC production is most easily generated by players. Should be easier for AT than XL on the outside (in a Dave O w/ BY) The most productive WR position in a Bryce Young O likely SHOULD be the slot. Not out wide. Which is why you don't want AT dominating it. Because he can't do anything with it accept meet the floor of plays. An ideal BY passing O would favor the slot, TE, and rec RB given what his arm is and how he plays the game (which we all largely agreed the short quick game was our direction when we drafted BY). Every spot and role is different based on scheme and QB. Slot w/ BY should be a YAC centric spot.

Worked for me, that was a nice little scuffle

Don't know the timeline on this, I thought Damien was injured. l like the fight in Wharton, but Damien is a bad man. Teammates quickly broke it up https://packaged-media.redd.it/kf2iz0bzv9kf1/pb/m2-res_480p.mp4?m=DASHPlaylist.mpd&v=1&e=1755813600&s=bc0c43be8958f6d3ac65095ebede26cadda344fe
