  1. Past hour
  2. It’s not even the players they got. Pick wise, they got a massive haul for us to jump from 9 to 1 when Young was so risky. If we took Stroud, I’d feel a bit differently but that haul for Young was not good for us. The fact that the Bears may not have drafted great is not the point. They could have taken Jayden Daniels and Jalen Carter and we’d be having nightmares over the trade.
  3. Just wait till we do the same thing with Bryce, if a team re-signs their QB, they are always at the top of the market, there is no chance we re-sign him for anything less than $50 million. And while I still won’t root for Bryce to fail, I don’t think he’ll ever be worth paying him that kind of money so I almost hope he does fail to just save ourselves from doing that. We’re in a lose-lose situation unless he shocks the world and shows to be a legit Top 10 QB, and I don’t see that happening.
  4. Yeah, honestly we need Bryce to boom or bust. Being anchored to a decent starter getting paid like an elite franchise QB is honestly worse than needing a QB.
  5. You cant say the current Playoff system is unfair because all teams are subject to it. Almost every team has benefited or been screwed over by it.
  6. He's way overrated. $181 million guaranteed... This is what concerns me with the Panthers. If the people remaining here who have the most at stake to end up being "right" about the pick - Morgan/Tepper) see "just enough" () improvement to convince themselves Bryce is a franchise QB going forward we seek to sign him to an early extension and just end up in QB purgatory. Such is why I am hoping for a year of outright elite level QB play from our first overall pick. Slam the door shut and we can all feel relieved.
  7. The joke was toward the posters who were just crying about about the change simply because it was change. That's it, that's all. Good lord
  8. I said there was nothing wrong with the playoff system. Slavery was obviously very wrong so the comparison doesn't make sense
  9. I see that haha. My celebration whiskey had me last night. I’ll fix it. @LinvilleGorgehey man, to avoid the jinx, can you change the thread name to “Eastern Conference 2nd Round Winner Pie” please? Thank you
  10. I thought the point I made was very obvious, but hey... LOL
  11. Yea all change is great, it's like you're trying to get the thread thrown in the tinderbox
  12. I mean short arms kept those idiots from drafting Slater…you’d think what they thought would be irrelevant ha. I agree let the guy go for it
  13. Yeah the combo of his fat ass and the horrible personnel decisions pushed Seifert out of his comfy place as our worst coach. Then Reich showed up with an epic level of Idgaf…
  14. Brock Purdy contract details: 49ers quarterback signs $265 million extension to become one of NFL's highest-paid QBs You cannot pay good QBs like elite franchise QBs. It's an absolute cap anchor. Hopefully they have a year, maybe two left in their current window because when they have to start making tough decisions to accommodate Purdy's cap hit they're cooked.
  15. I just try not to have homer takes. Fair is fair IMO. I'm all for the division winners getting automatic bid. That reserves the integrity of honoring division winners. But automatically hosting a playoff game against a team with a better record? Nah. Too much IMO. Giving them an automatic bid over a team with a better record is already plenty.
  16. I think Tremble is best as H-back/Fullback. Give that man some screen passes and short yardage carries ha
  17. I think it's important to take into account the POV of someone here being skeptical of this change has as much to do with the fact that we are fans of a franchise that hasn't had a winning season or been to the playoffs since 2017. And our division has weakened substantially in those years since. This could basically make divisions largely irrelevant. It's also important to consider the bulk of the owners wouldn't push something like this through for the direct benefit of bottom feeder teams like ours. Again though. If this actually does pass I'll wait and see how it goes. Nothing I can do anyways.
  18. Bears won because its a trade we didn't need to make, at least with the pieces we sent. If Fitts had half a brain, he would have completed the Burns trade and use the 2 Rams 1sts to swap 1sts and we would still have had the overall 1st to trade or swap out for picks.
  19. Where was that comparison made? The comparison was to the mindset of fighting against change simply because you hate change. LOL Let's get rid of those damn independent neurologists while we're at it. Damned change and all that...
  20. Yep. My son is almost 6'4", and 220 is a good size. 240+ is suspect for most.
  21. So just ignore that and take on the fact that we'd still be watching football in leather helmets with no forward pass if the "let's just fight any and all change on the basis that we hate change" folks always get their way. It was a joke to point out the absurdity of the logic of the argument of fighting against change because you hate change.
  22. Or maybe we could avoid potentially trivializing 400 years of barbarism and atrocities and just talk football.
  23. I see this from multiple angles. On the one hand teams like the Patriots made deep playoff runs consistently because they're division was largely putrid at best and they basically had a guaranteed postseason spot every year. There are still teams that accomplish this. But I don't see this helping us at least not in the short term. It will however make the Buccaneers path to the playoffs more complicated. And to that I say splendid.
  24. It was a joke making fun of people who just bitch and moan about change for the sake of just never wanting any change. You know, kinda like you're doing in this thread. LOL
  25. You're potentially punished for being a good team in a good division though. What if your whole division is between 9-8 and 7-10 and everyone splits. Now you have to go on the road because another team finished second in their division at 10-7 but played 2 dog poo teams 4 times and won all 4 games.
