It is time to Consider the Likelihood of WR at #19
strato replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
We are going to have to part with those contracts anyway at the latest, after 2027. Here’s what I think about sinking another 1st into WR: the cumulative passing yards won’t be affected that much. Yards and targets will just be redistributed. Because Bryce can’t play the ‘beat you with his arm’ type of game against 3/4 of the league. Only the weak sisters. Make us one dimensional and the QB hasn’t shown he is up to that. So we have to run a ton. It’s just how it is and the typical Sunday will have lower passing numbers as a result. Yeah he did pull off a great 4th quarter vs LAR in November and looked good against them in the rematch. Did people notice that they responded to that by maki g big moves to upgrade their pass defense? It was a weak unit. Like Atlanta was a weak unit. If he is gonna get better at that vs strong defenses he needs stout protection. Dan showed at first that he understood this, but the OL has been degraded. That room should be maintained as a super strength. I guess it is ‘chicken or the egg’ re Young or his WRs that are to blame but we have seen three years of Bryce’s act. Couldn’t get a TD for Tet until week 6. That’s OROY too. That’s where my opinions fall. -
Shut the fug up already.. I wish they'd send your lame self hating fan ass packing
-
Then root for a different team douchebag.
-
We have to upgrade our bigs (4/5). I want to see Moose, Miles, Coby, PJ, (draft picks)and Kalkbrenner leading the 2nd team.
-
The team that's been kicking our ass for years is in a longer title drought than us and has just become the new one year stop off for guys heading to the NBA as soon as they're eligible. They can have that crown. Our last championship team was light on NBA talent but heavy on very good experienced college talent. Give me that. I'll let the dookies brag about elite NBA talent stopping over for a coffee in Durham and not getting to the big game.
-
Go figure, I come in here and give someone their flowers, try to be nice, and the fuging Hornets put up a 10 point 4th quarter. HAHAHAHAHA. It better be fuging crickets in here until they win a playoff series.
-
Need Kon to get a late three, not watching game, are starters even still in? On this for entertainment. Houston playing for position with Lakers, think KD shows up at home vs Ant.
-
Kon has hit that wall. Might need to rest him and another starter against the Knicks Sunday. Kupp snatched that RoY from kon
-
Yeah and possibly both on the road. Team just completely died in the fourth quarter
-
Welp. Play in it is, and we’re going to have to win 2 in a row.
-
Team just can't keep it going for four quarters yet unless they're blowing teams out. They'll figure it out soon enough
-
These officials are conplete ass
-
Getting away from them. Young team gonna have to learn to finish it they want to take the next step
-
Our crowd needs to learn how to get loud

It is time to Consider the Likelihood of WR at #19

If all you're looking at is his season yardage statistics, then sure, they won't look great, but look a little deeper and the production is clearly there on the field... As an UDFA, the teams #3 WR, and poor QB play, he had 478 yards in only 11 games. If he had that average over a 17 game season he would have had a 738 yard season as an undrafted rookie. This past year he missed the start of the season and clearly took time to get back to form once he was back. But remove his first 4 games getting back to form, and over the final 7 games he had a per game average that would have been a 796 yard season over 17 games. 796 yards this past season would have been 34th in the league overall, and 27th best for a WR. And that was all before he went and dropped a 134 yard game in the playoffs. Pretty sure that's pretty darn good production for a 2nd or 3rd option, no? So again, I think it's wildly unfair to say we only have 1 WR, as if Coker plays a full season this year, he should be good for 800-1000 yards, even with T-Mac next to him getting 1,200+ himself. This is why I don't at all see the need for drafting a WR in the 1st this year, not while still having XL, Horn Jr, and I guess Metchie even though I'm not at all sold on him. Draft a speedy WR in the 3rd or 4th and/or sign a vet (is DHop still out there?) to play in the slot this year, and use that 1st on a position of more need. -
This is a solid stat and appreciate the context. Can't argue with it. Just wish they would win a big game or two late in the season. Fighting hard vs full power Detroit, maybe tonight is the night.

ATL is going to be a tough out for one of them higher seeds. They’ve got a well built team
- Today

Sure you do

It's not hate. It's reality. Yall are for real in here defending the state of Carolina basketball, predicting top recruiting classes when nothing has changed 8 miles down the road where they've been kicking our ass in recruiting for YEARS, and banking that it's all fixed with these hires. I hope you're right, unfortunately I think you're not. I've been to every Final Four Carolina has been in during my adult life. I've been to both Panthers Super Bowls. If the Hornets play in anything meaningful, I'll be there too. I root for these teams to win harder than anyone, but I also call a spade a spade. Charles Lee sucks but the talent is good, Belichick sucks and who knows where that goes, and Canales sucks and so does the talent on the Panthers. Go to the Hurricanes forum, I've never said a bad thing about that team because while they've fallen short the last several years, they aren't a bunch of dipshits doing dipshit things in games / during the season. But y'all keep pounding your chests that OUR teams have arrived. Can't even imagine the level of disappointment that comes with that.

I don't find it unfair at all. Have you compared Coker's actual production to other second and third options in the league. Come on, man. For the record, I am a proponent of the BPA. I don't care what position it is. Similarly, I am very much against reaching down over a superior player to get another one based on need. It's as simple as that. -
I've given up on that dream. I'd love to even get up to 8 but that seems tough
-
Hornets bet should get there
-
I don't either but that could get us to 6 or 7
-
I don't see that happening. Just because Atlanta is better than miami
